The Logistics Division, DPIIT, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in collaboration with MyGov, invites citizens' suggestions and comments on the National Transport Master Plan, covering connectivity, travel experience and transport priorities for the next 10 years.

The Logistics Division, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in collaboration with MyGov, invites suggestions and comments from citizens for the preparation of the National Transport Master Plan, which will guide the country's road, railway, aviation, maritime and urban connectivity over the next 10 years.

On the occasion of the 5th Anniversary of the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan (13 October 2026), this discussion seeks the on-ground experience and ideas of citizens who travel every day, whether for work, study, business or family. The aim is an integrated, multimodal and citizen-centric transport network that makes the movement of people and goods faster, safer and smoother.

Citizens are invited to share views on the following:

      1. First and last mile connectivity: how easily you can reach and leave stations, bus stands, airports and ports.
      2. Amenities and facilities in Railways and Roadways: at railway stations, bus stands, highways and rest areas.
      3. Expected travel time and experience from the National Capital to State Capitals: what is reasonable and what you actually experience.
      4. Expected travel time and experience from State Capitals to District Headquarters: what is reasonable and what you actually experience.
      5. Preferred mode of travel: Rail, Road or Air, and why.
      6. Local transport, including Metro and buses: availability, reliability, comfort and safety.
      7. Infrastructure priority: whether the Government should prioritise Roads or Railways, and why.
      8. Adherence to traffic laws: your suggestions to improve road discipline and safety.

I suggest that the Government introduce more air-conditioned electric buses across Goa, providing comfortable, affordable and eco-friendly public transport. Bus services should operate 24/7 wherever feasible, with at least one bus every hour on key routes and increased frequency during peak hours. More bus stops should be established according to population density and passenger demand, ensuring that villages, towns, schools, colleges, hospitals, workplaces, railway stations and bus terminals are well connected. Bus stops should have proper lighting, seating, clean toilets at major terminals, real-time bus tracking and safety facilities for women, senior citizens and persons with disabilities. I also propose exploring a metro rail line or another suitable rapid-transit system connecting North Goa and South Goa to reduce travel time, traffic congestion and dependence on private vehicles. The route and stations should be planned through a feasibility study, with stops near major populati

My idea is about urban transport system. dedicated corridors for buses will provide services similar to metro, cost of construction is less, is more efficient than metro. please see attached pdf.

My key recommendation: Develop an integrated, affordable and environmentally sustainable first- and last-mile transport network so that every citizen can travel easily from their home to a railway station, bus stand, airport or port and reach their final destination safely.

Plastic-Free Transport Hubs: Strengthen restrictions on single-use plastic at railway stations, bus stands and other transport facilities. Promote reusable food-service items, drinking-water refill stations and effective waste segregation. Healthy Food Facilities: Encourage railway stations and other transport hubs to offer affordable, nutritious food, including fruits, millets and healthy local meals, alongside safe drinking water.

Subject: Suggestions on First- and Last-Mile Connectivity under the National Transport Master Plan Seamless Connectivity: Integrate railway stations, bus stands, airports and ports with local buses, metro services, electric buses, shared autos and other public transport options to make transfers easy and convenient. Affordable Last-Mile Transport: Provide reasonably priced feeder services, especially in rural areas, small towns and remote villages, so that students, senior citizens, women and persons with disabilities can reach transport hubs without difficulty.
