The Logistics Division, DPIIT, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in collaboration with MyGov, invites citizens' suggestions and comments on the National Transport Master Plan, covering connectivity, travel experience and transport priorities for the next 10 years.

The Logistics Division, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in collaboration with MyGov, invites suggestions and comments from citizens for the preparation of the National Transport Master Plan, which will guide the country's road, railway, aviation, maritime and urban connectivity over the next 10 years.

On the occasion of the 5th Anniversary of the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan (13 October 2026), this discussion seeks the on-ground experience and ideas of citizens who travel every day, whether for work, study, business or family. The aim is an integrated, multimodal and citizen-centric transport network that makes the movement of people and goods faster, safer and smoother.

Citizens are invited to share views on the following:

      1. First and last mile connectivity: how easily you can reach and leave stations, bus stands, airports and ports.
      2. Amenities and facilities in Railways and Roadways: at railway stations, bus stands, highways and rest areas.
      3. Expected travel time and experience from the National Capital to State Capitals: what is reasonable and what you actually experience.
      4. Expected travel time and experience from State Capitals to District Headquarters: what is reasonable and what you actually experience.
      5. Preferred mode of travel: Rail, Road or Air, and why.
      6. Local transport, including Metro and buses: availability, reliability, comfort and safety.
      7. Infrastructure priority: whether the Government should prioritise Roads or Railways, and why.
      8. Adherence to traffic laws: your suggestions to improve road discipline and safety.

      9. Since our country is having high populatin now , we all together maintain our place. I mean we can use all mode of transportation, but short distance, walking or cycling is good. Car pooling, Shared vehicles, public transports are good within city. For long distance bus, train and airways is good. So maintenence is key. We have to identify loop holes or problems and need to fix it. Probaby a dedicated team can monitor. 10. Heard other countries in order to reduce polltion or traffic, city based rules are there. We can try to apply. I mean narrow roads what type of vehicles, or bigger roads how it will work out. Overall time may be save for all. Need to validate and take it.

      7. May be a warnings, guidance, advertisements related to road safety, helmet wearing can help to improve discipline. Next level is fine for not following rules. Some states traffic signals exams is there as part of driving license (2 wheeler or 4 wheeler) getting exams. We can mandate everystate to have theory exam aong with drvning exam. 8. License exams should be properly conducting. That is also good , onle after learning driving properly people can drive their vehicles.

Fatalities often occur when fast-moving vehicles collide with stationary vehicles on highways. Since vehicles on highways typically travel at high speeds, drivers often lack sufficient time to notice whether a vehicle ahead is stationary or in motion. To address this, a signaling system—a "highway stop mode light"—should be installed at the rear of vehicles to alert approaching drivers whenever a vehicle has come to a stop on the highway for any reason. This system should be designed to be clearly visible both during the day and at night, either as a unified unit or as separate components, and it must be integrated as a standard part of the vehicle. The Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways should urge the research and development divisions of vehicle manufacturing companies to implement this. Given the high number of fatalities resulting from collisions with stationary vehicles on highways.

      5. In my place metrao and buses available easily. It is good. 6. I believe government should prioritis the roads. For 8 hours 9 hours upto 12 hours journey rowadways can improve. Remaining long distance trains is good. Very lond distance flight can be considered. Sometime we can conside boat or ship travel also. But we have to maintain our land, water and air in good ways. We should maintain it. As far as Rail is considered, since rail creates some jerks or fast vibrations may be balanced way is good. I think bus or roadways is more safe. Improving roads with quality and longevity is required.

Collisions involving the upper sections of vehicles and overhead obstructions occur frequently because drivers are often unaware of their vehicle’s exact height. When clearance height—the vertical distance between the road surface and the underside of a bridge—is visibly displayed to approaching drivers, they can take necessary precautions or choose alternative routes. On state highways, which experience heavy vehicular traffic, similar warning information regarding low-hanging tree branches and overhead power cables should be clearly displayed to promote safer driving habits. Accidents where vehicles strike the underside of structures cause severe damage to public infrastructure, destroy the vehicles, and pose serious safety risks to occupants. Therefore, any overhead structure providing a clearance of less than 30 feet that could strike a passing vehicle must be clearly marked, alongside low-hanging cables and branches.

      3. Since we are in south, National caiptal to state capital airways is better. It is good. Similaly state capital to District headquarters Train is preferred if near by states. For long distance airways is preferred. 4. We prefer long distant travel by airways. Nearby state to state means train is preferable. Sometime Travel buses also preferred. This is I beleive optimized way.

Some Suggestions: 1. We prefer autos like ola or uber to drop home to stations, bus stands etc. State to state travels, railway stationsb train suits and drop can be prepaid autos or other autos. For airport we prefer prepaid taxis. I believe prepaid taxis or autos are good. 2. Cleanliness preferable need to increase in Bus stands. Railways improved . can be make it better and maintanance is key. Probably a fine may help to avoid misuse. direction boards, guidance may help to maintain. Always airports are mostly good condition.

Subject: Improving Connectivity of Ambikapur, Chhattisgarh I request the Government of India and the Government of Chhattisgarh to improve railway, road and air connectivity in Ambikapur, Surguja. 1. Expedite the proposed Ambikapur–Ramanujganj–Garhwa Road/Barwadih and Ambikapur–Pathalgaon–Sardega railway projects. 2. Introduce more direct trains connecting Ambikapur with Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Patna, based on passenger demand. 3. Improve highway connectivity and interstate bus services to neighbouring states. 4. Develop Ambikapur Airport and explore affordable, regular flights to Raipur and other major cities. 5. Publish project approval status, budgets and implementation timelines. Better connectivity will improve access to education, healthcare and employment, boost tourism, attract investment and accelerate economic development in northern Chhattisgarh. I request the concerned authorities to prioritise these initiatives in the public interest.
