The Logistics Division, DPIIT, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in collaboration with MyGov, invites citizens' suggestions and comments on the National Transport Master Plan, covering connectivity, travel experience and transport priorities for the next 10 years.

The Logistics Division, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in collaboration with MyGov, invites suggestions and comments from citizens for the preparation of the National Transport Master Plan, which will guide the country's road, railway, aviation, maritime and urban connectivity over the next 10 years.

On the occasion of the 5th Anniversary of the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan (13 October 2026), this discussion seeks the on-ground experience and ideas of citizens who travel every day, whether for work, study, business or family. The aim is an integrated, multimodal and citizen-centric transport network that makes the movement of people and goods faster, safer and smoother.

Citizens are invited to share views on the following:

      1. First and last mile connectivity: how easily you can reach and leave stations, bus stands, airports and ports.
      2. Amenities and facilities in Railways and Roadways: at railway stations, bus stands, highways and rest areas.
      3. Expected travel time and experience from the National Capital to State Capitals: what is reasonable and what you actually experience.
      4. Expected travel time and experience from State Capitals to District Headquarters: what is reasonable and what you actually experience.
      5. Preferred mode of travel: Rail, Road or Air, and why.
      6. Local transport, including Metro and buses: availability, reliability, comfort and safety.
      7. Infrastructure priority: whether the Government should prioritise Roads or Railways, and why.
      8. Adherence to traffic laws: your suggestions to improve road discipline and safety.

Integrating Social Security into PM Gati Shakti While PM Gati Shakti has revolutionized India's physical, digital, and logistics infrastructure, it must transcend roads, ports, and rails to embrace human-centric infrastructure. Sustainable growth requires prioritizing the human capital driving these sectors. Key recommendations for the initiative: Worker Welfare: Strengthen social welfare schemes for construction, transport, and trade workers operating in high-risk environments, such as highway and tunnel projects. Fishermen Security: Sagarmala is vital for coastal growth, yet fishers face severe vulnerabilities. In tragic events like natural disasters where a fisher goes missing, family income must be legally guaranteed until they are located. Interim relief and temporary employment opportunities should be provided to the families of sailors and fishermen. True progress relies on protecting those who build our nation.

The speed of passenger rail services must be increased. The average speeds should be raised to the following targets: 100–110 km/h for Premium trains, 90–100 km/h for Duronto trains, 80 km/h for Superfast trains, 60–70 km/h for Express trains, and 55 km/h for both ordinary passenger trains and MEMU/DEMU services. While this does not need to be implemented immediately, it should be set as a target to be achieved within the next decade. To facilitate this, the necessary infrastructure must be upgraded. The speed of passenger ship services to the Andaman and Lakshadweep islands should also be increased by 50 percent. Furthermore, transport infrastructure in the Northeastern states requires improvement and special attention. An international Freight Village / Logistics Village should be established. Facilities for workers and business operators must be provided. A 'Kisan Coach' (farmer-focused rail carriage) should be included to transport value-added agricultural products.

Safe Roads,Inclusive India Traffic rules are not only about avoiding fines; they are about protecting every life. In towns like Kurnool, every citizen should understand the needs of persons with disabilities. A driver should slow down and stop at a zebra crossing, never block an accessible footpath or ramp, and give extra time to a visually challenged person crossing the road. Horns should not be used unnecessarily near persons with hearing or visual difficulties. Drivers must avoid parking in spaces reserved for persons with disabilities and should give way to wheelchair users and mobility-aid users. People with disabilities who drive should be respected and judged by the same traffic rules, with suitable accessibility and understanding. Audible signals, tactile pathways, clear crossings, ramps and accessible buses can make daily travel safer. Under Viksit Bharat, development means roads that are safe, accessible and respectful to everyone. A truly developed India is one where ever

India needs an affordable, safe and reliable transport system for Viksit Bharat. Improve first and last-mile connectivity with feeder buses and better links between villages, towns, stations and airports. Stations, bus terminals and highways should provide clean toilets, drinking water, seating, lighting and emergency help. Travel between Delhi, state capitals and districts should be faster through reliable trains, roads and buses. Railways should support affordable long-distance travel, while roads connect rural communities. Metro, electric buses and better city bus services can reduce congestion. Investment in roads and railways should reflect public needs and safety, with proper maintenance of existing infrastructure. Enforce traffic laws against speeding and dangerous driving. Safe crossings, footpaths, road signs, helmets, seat belts and quick ambulance services can reduce accidents. Public feedback and transparent monitoring should ensure transport benefits every citizen.

Why don’t create longer (engine power) body buses for use in capital (caplital limit) for higher people with fixed speed.tnq.

      1. First Last Mile: Fazilka station se village tak 6pm ke baad auto/bus nahi, e-bus needed. 2. Amenities: Fazilka/Abohar station pe waiting room, water, display weak, NH7 pe rest stops kam. 3. Delhi-Chandigarh: Train 3.5hr thik, road pe 5hr jam se, expected 3hr. 4. Chandigarh-Fazilka: No direct train, via Bathinda 8-9hr for 400km, direct train chahiye. 5. Preferred: Rail, sasta safe. 6.
