The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR), in collaboration with MyGov, invites suggestions  on the draft Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) on the “Prevention & Response Framework for Drugs & Substance Use among Children.”

The SOP is being developed by NCPCR in accordance with the Joint Action Plan on Prevention of Drugs and Substance Abuse among Children and Illicit Trafficking, 2021.

The proposed Framework will incorporate inputs received from various stakeholders, emerging best practices, recent research, and relevant recommendations contained in the NCORD Vision Document.

The Framework aims to provide a comprehensive and child-centric approach for the prevention, early identification, response, treatment, rehabilitation, and reintegration of children affected by drug and substance use and illicit trafficking.

Through this initiative, NCPCR seeks valuable suggestions from stakeholders and citizens to strengthen the proposed Framework and ensure a coordinated, effective, and rights-based response to address drug and substance use among children.

Anyone would give suggestions on how to restrict access or focus on more strict laws, when there's more simple ways . Look from a teen's pov , why they use it ? it helps them make money ? then put up learning programs and mini jobs for teens even if with lil amounts like 1-5k. This would help and motivate to develop skill whether its about programming , graphic designs , excel work , some physical work etc. it would also strengthen their trust on gov. Next possible reason ? thinking its cool. Instead of taking away access to social media make it a tool. Todays youth idolizes certain influencers and find them motivating, if same influencers with high following were paid to promote no drugs and not smoking as being cool or new trend, many will follow the example. As for people who already are addicted, how about funding on research and creating products that can act as replacement and give the product a creative look, at least the ones who are willing to change their habits can try.

Child and women development is very important for the progress of a country. Children are the future of society, so they need proper education, nutritious food, healthcare, safety, and a caring environment. Every child should get equal opportunities to learn and grow. Child labour, child marriage, poverty, and neglect should be prevented. Women also play an important role in the development of families and society. They should receive equal opportunities in education, employment, and decision-making. Problems such as discrimination, domestic violence, and unequal wages must be addressed. Education and awareness are powerful tools for development. Government, schools, families, and society should work together to protect children and empower women. When children are educated and women are empowered, the whole nation becomes stronger, healthier, and more prosperous.

Key Suggestions: 1. Non-Punitive Early Detection: Train teachers and school staff to spot early signs and provide support rather than expelling or punishing students. 2. Pediatric De-Addiction Facilities: Establish age-appropriate rehabilitation centres separated from adult facilities, with dedicated child psychologists. 3. Strict Buffer Zones: Actively enforce the ban on selling tobacco, inhalants, and substances within 100 metres of all schools. 4. Care Over Criminalization: Treat affected children strictly as victims needing protection under the JJ Act, not as offenders. 5. Reintegration Support: Provide skill training and peer-led mentorship to prevent relapse after recovery.

Social media is playing big role in the students life how they adopt their life. Actually, there is no need for students to have social media accounts. life untill age of 24 is best for study and they should focus on study. we should avoid all social media participation until age of 24 or until they are studying. social media account and education school admission should link with Aadhar. if student is enrolled into study, should not have social media. i am sure it will be good for country as well as student self. second important point is restriction over internet for all the user. there are lots of crime and porn available without any restrictions, why so ???? what is need of it in our life ????
