The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR), in collaboration with MyGov, invites suggestions  on the draft Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) on the “Prevention & Response Framework for Drugs & Substance Use among Children.”

The SOP is being developed by NCPCR in accordance with the Joint Action Plan on Prevention of Drugs and Substance Abuse among Children and Illicit Trafficking, 2021.

The proposed Framework will incorporate inputs received from various stakeholders, emerging best practices, recent research, and relevant recommendations contained in the NCORD Vision Document.

The Framework aims to provide a comprehensive and child-centric approach for the prevention, early identification, response, treatment, rehabilitation, and reintegration of children affected by drug and substance use and illicit trafficking.

Through this initiative, NCPCR seeks valuable suggestions from stakeholders and citizens to strengthen the proposed Framework and ensure a coordinated, effective, and rights-based response to address drug and substance use among children.

To prevent and stop cyberbullying on social media, adjust your account privacy settings, block or restrict abusive users, and never engage with or reply to harassment. Start by locking down your social media profiles. Setting your accounts to private ensures that only people you approve can see your posts, photos, and personal information. You should also take advantage of built-in platform features to filter your content. For example, you can use keyword filters to automatically hide offensive words, or use restriction settings to make a bully's comments invisible to other users. Additionally, always disable real-time location sharing on your posts to keep your physical whereabouts private. - As a Teenager participating this and my parents gave those Ideas

Prevention : • Mandatory Awareness session at school about the immediate and long term impact on physical mental and social health. • Awareness session for parents about maintaining drug free environment at home and preventing influence of drug related activities in movies by Distancing. Early Identification : • Through anonymous box at school where children can share their problems without fear and inform of their friends or colleagues involvement in such activities. • Through supervision of parents and teachers. Treatment and Rehabilitation : • Child centred care unit separate from adult ones • Awareness and Encouragement for accepting and explaining their problems with parents care personnel and doctors. Reintegration : • Inclusion of various creative activities, different sports etc along with rewarding and appraisals for effort and growth and creating home like environment.

Subject: Urgent appeal regarding alleged restrictions on children's entry into a residential society temple, harassment of a woman advocate, and the need for transparent temple management and equal access to religious and cultural activities Respected Pradhan Mantri Ji, My humble pranam. I am Advocate Harsha Shekhawat, a resident of Jaipur, Rajasthan. I am writing this representation with deep concern regarding a situation in my residential society that has affected not only me and my family but also several young children who participated in devotional and cultural activities organised within our society's temple premises. I request your kind attention to this matter because I believe that temples should be places of devotion, learning, compassion, and unity, especially for children who are beginning to understand their religious and cultural heritage. Children who are not coming to temple now are certainly going to choose a wrong path. Please address this issue .

A child should never have to choose between a healthy future and a harmful substance. We must act before experimentation becomes addiction, before addiction becomes family suffering, and before family suffering becomes a problem for the entire community. Let us build a system where every child has someone to talk to, every family knows where to seek help, every school can identify warning signs, and anyone who targets children with drugs faces strong action. **We cannot protect our children by waiting for them to fall—we must build a safety net strong enough to catch them before they do. Protecting a child today is not just saving one life; it is protecting a family, strengthening a community and securing the future of our country.

I suggest that the SOP should introduce a “One Child, One Support Plan” approach for every child identified as being at risk of, or affected by, drug or substance use. A trained Child Support Coordinator could help create an individual plan covering counselling, healthcare, education, family support, protection from exploitation or trafficking, rehabilitation and safe reintegration. The SOP could also include a 90-day follow-up system to ensure that support continues after the first intervention: immediate protection and assessment, followed by reviews at 7, 30, 60 and 90 days. A confidential, child-friendly complaint mechanism should also be available so children can safely report bullying, coercion, exploitation, mistreatment or pressure to use substances. The approach should be supportive and non-stigmatising, focusing on the child’s safety, dignity, recovery, education and future rather than punishment.
