The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), in collaboration with MyGov, invites citizens across India to share their constructive suggestions and innovative ideas through the initiative "Have an Idea? Share it with ICAI".
This initiative provides a platform for citizens, professionals, students, entrepreneurs, and other stakeholders to contribute their valuable ideas for strengthening the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), the Chartered Accountancy profession, and India's financial and economic ecosystem.
Participants are encouraged to submit their suggestions on areas such as strengthening the Chartered Accountancy profession, promoting economic development, enhancing transparency and good governance, leveraging technology and innovation, improving financial literacy, supporting entrepreneurship, and contributing towards the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.

Idea Title: "ICAI Digi-Mitra" – Decentralized Financial Clinics for Rural MSMEs & Startups
The Core Concept:
To accelerate India’s economic growth at the grassroots level, ICAI can launch a nationwide initiative called "ICAI Digi-Mitra". This program will function as a network of mobile-friendly, digital financial clinics designed specifically for rural micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), farmers, and village entrepreneurs who lack access to professional corporate advice.
How it Works & Key Features:
• Virtual Financial Clinics: ICAI can leverage its vast network of newly qualified CAs and students (as part of their practical training/community service) to provide free or highly subsidized baseline financial health checks to rural businesses.
• Tech-Driven Compliance Hub: A dedicated mobile application can be developed to help small shopkeepers understand cash flow management, simplify GST/Income Tax compliance in local regional languages, and prevent them from falling.

In India icai plays a very big role in business firms etc. it is very challenging but most of students faced exams like very tough because mostly you gave questions not according to the syllabus ... Their is out of syllabus. Question faced by students so it is very painful attacks facing upcoming and enhanced students mind set so
Like in sept 2026 exams in accounts exam students faced problems regarding syllabus so please gave proper questions rather than unnecessary or out of syllabus question and please focus .. that syllabus burden are too big please make sure reduce some syllabus please don't not make big problem .

Many CA students feel lonely due to long hours of studying alone. This can affect their confidence, communication, motivation and mental well-being. I suggest ICAI create smaller, friendly groups where students can interact, make friends, participate in group studies and build communication skills. Although CASA provides interaction opportunities, some students may feel uncomfortable meeting new people. Smaller groups can help them gradually build connections, reduce loneliness and stay motivated in their studies.

Idea Name: Project Setu-CA: Integrating Enterprise AI Infrastructure into ICAI's Digital Framework
The Problem
With the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) managing over a million active students and members, the scale of administrative and regulatory interaction is massive. Everyday operations—ranging from navigating the Self Service Portal (SSP) for articleship registrations to sourcing verified interpretations of evolving tax updates—face systemic friction. Students often spend hours tracking down scattered study resources or dealing with portal downtime during peak exam enrolment windows, while members managing practice firms struggle with manual cross-referencing of dense multi-layered notifications.
The Proposed Solution and How It Works
Project Setu-CA proposes embedding an authorized, secure generative AI utility layer directly into ICAI's existing digital infrastructure (such as the SSP backend and student learning dashboards).

Dear Readers,
My suggestion to ICAI is to look beyond merely relying on audited figures. As investors, we rely heavily on financial statements, but how do we assess the reliability, capability and stability of the audit firm behind them?
I agree that peer review is an important mechanism to assess audit quality. However, as a shareholder or investor, where can I access meaningful information about the auditor's peer review status, quality controls and professional record?
This becomes especially important when frauds or major irregularities are discovered later. Questions are then raised about the auditor, while the auditor may state that relevant information was not provided or facts were concealed by management. Such explanations may have merit, but investors deserve greater transparency.
