Misleading advertisements, tricks gullible consumer in purchasing the products and services which are often health hazards or substandard in quality, for example – various pills/food supplements, fairness creams, etc.  The Department of Consumer Affairs, Government of India having its office at New Delhi, would not be able to check the menace of misleading advertisement without the active participation and help from the State Governments, local self-Governments and the Police department of the States. These authorities are expected to intensify their action against the misleading advertisements as also the misleading advertisers on their own or once altered by the voluntary consumer organizations.

BJP government did a blunder mistake by supporting Mufti in J & K. If people of J & K not given clear mandate then they should have to face an another election and give clear mandate. Mufti govt will ruin work of BJP and support anti India activity. BJP should have to take an action and do needful urgently.

Govtshould make misleading ads a grave offence, where the offence should be punishable by fine and imprisonment, both. The govt.should regularly publisg the defaulter name and address in leading newspaper,Channels so that they do not do in future. If a company is found to violate the rules more than three times it should be banned for doing business for non -ethical practises. The govt should create data bases of such defaulter companies and levy huge monetary charges so the govt gets money foruse

We need to have educational programs and more police - citizen interaction programs to build trust between the two. Today, people are suspicious and scared of the police and that results in lack of cooperation and therefore reduced effectiveness of police. By more interation, people will get to participate and help in police activities and it will be for the benefit of all.

My personal opinion is that Taluk legal services Authorities(TLSAs) and District legal Services Authorities(DLSAs) constituted under Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987 must be allowed to take suo-moto action against misleading advertisements.

Police must come out from the old mindset. They needs to be seen as the protectors of the society. They should be provided periodical trainings. Yoga/meditation must be the part of their daily rutine.

their should be review committee like the CENSOR Board to review advertisement in respect of certain categories. including all categories would increase corruption and reduce competition
