Misleading advertisements, tricks gullible consumer in purchasing the products and services which are often health hazards or substandard in quality, for example – various pills/food supplements, fairness creams, etc.  The Department of Consumer Affairs, Government of India having its office at New Delhi, would not be able to check the menace of misleading advertisement without the active participation and help from the State Governments, local self-Governments and the Police department of the States. These authorities are expected to intensify their action against the misleading advertisements as also the misleading advertisers on their own or once altered by the voluntary consumer organizations.

The seller should be mandated to provide their TIN number to the buyer in the advertisements. And government should have an online system where the buyer could be able to check the details of seller using the TIN. This should help to identify the fake products too..

There should be a web based central depository, freely accessible by public, wherein a back-up justification & basis (including documents supporting the claims made in the advt.) must be filed before any advt. is released, print or media. No approval to be required but a simple filing number to be generated which should be shown in the advt. The same depository should also allow complaints filing. Police should initiate action against the advertiser for misleading/wrongful advt. if found true.

The local weight loss advertisement stickers and other such unauthorized advertisement stickers inside the buses and trains should be removed. These could be removed by the bus/train transport workers or by the passengers. Separate guidelines should be given by the state government regarding these simple things.

Police do not entertain FIR. This is common in every State. This happens in spite of Supreme Court 's directive. On line FIR System is to be introduced at least for heinous crime as RAPE , MURDERED....as the mark of GOOD GOVERNESS .
