With globalization and liberalization of Indian Economy in last two decades, numerous domestic and international companies have been drawn to investing in new modes of business/ business models targeted at the huge domestic market especially in the consumer goods & services. Direct Selling is one of these modes where goods /services are sold directly by the producer/service provider to the consumers. For this different models such as Multi Level/Network marketing, Door to Door Selling, Online Selling, Tele-shopping are being used. These practices are new and different from traditional retail through shops. In the absence of a proper regulatory framework, retail through these models leads to consumer grievances, trader’s issues, slow growth of the sector etc.

The aim of this discussion is to deliberate and evolve views of all stakeholders for providing a regulatory framework to the sector.

I reckon, most of the times, we Indians, show little or no faith in our system and the government. And it is deeply shameful to see that happening

Dear All, In India any company can sell anything by paying bribe. There are government bodies who are responsible to check the quality of product. Even after repetitive complain from end user(customer), nothing happen to company who do not assure quality. There should be regular quality check in laboratories by company, gov bodies(customer allowed) Anything found wrong by gov bodies or customer, then product be taken back from market and find should be imposed on companies turnover.

Dear All, I would like to promote Indian company. We should have images on each product(like veg non-veg images on product) to identify and aware about Indian company or foreign company. This will save huge amount going out of India. We unknowingly buy foreign company product of food, soft drink, processed items, beauty product and other items.

One of the major issue in our country is quality of the ready to eat food items..There is no required food labs in each states..I am from kerala .and also related officers are so limit . My opinion is provide authorised food labs with authorised officers in every cities in each state,so consumers can directly involve the product quality

Online stores like Flipkart, snapdeal and amazon.in did not charge shipping charges. Now they charge Rs.60/- or more for each item. Then the ordered items arrive after 7-10 days. Why ? couriers take 1 or 2 days to deliver. It seem they send at low rate and customers high. THEY ALSO RAISE PRICE AND THEN OFFER FAKE DISCOUNT OF 50%- 80%. Gov must regulate this.

sale of Stamp Papers to be handed over to Postal department to stop high level of corruption and to save interest of personnel in the country especially in rural areas farmers and weaker section of the society. If this step is undertaken will be highly appreciated by the public and will be one of the greatest achievement of this Govt.
