With globalization and liberalization of Indian Economy in last two decades, numerous domestic and international companies have been drawn to investing in new modes of business/ business models targeted at the huge domestic market especially in the consumer goods & services. Direct Selling is one of these modes where goods /services are sold directly by the producer/service provider to the consumers. For this different models such as Multi Level/Network marketing, Door to Door Selling, Online Selling, Tele-shopping are being used. These practices are new and different from traditional retail through shops. In the absence of a proper regulatory framework, retail through these models leads to consumer grievances, trader’s issues, slow growth of the sector etc.

The aim of this discussion is to deliberate and evolve views of all stakeholders for providing a regulatory framework to the sector.

Follow up on RuPAY - if this has no transaction fee for retailers it will help small retailers /kirana shops to adopt card payment. 3g/4G can help in last mile connectivity for devices needed for card payment.RuPAY should not be just for jan dhan accounts

The government must make RuPAY a company like Visa & Mastercard. The aim is to get as many banks as possible to issue RuPAY cards to its account holders in preference to mastercsard and visa. The retailers can be given a incentive like no transaction fee for 5 years to increase the use & acceptability.and also maybe a further 5 year with minimal or no transaction fees. The cost of running the company can be met by GoI. This will in the long reduce black economy.

Sir one more very important issue i have is on eatables we have different colour green, brown, red etc to show any animal ingredient. But many non-eatable products may have animal ingredients and such ingredients can have both veg and animal origin but I think there is no law to indicate them. So please can we have a law for them too.

Diirect sell of medicines and other health products should not be allowed without the prescription of an doctor/expert. Now a days many ads are present every where from them and consumers are getting trapped.

TODAY IN INDIA WHEN WE GO TO MARKET. ONE PROBLEM WE CAN EASILY SEE THE LACK OF INFRASTRUCTURE. THERE IS NO PROPER FRAMEWORK FOR RESIDENTIAL PLACES AND COMMERCIAL PLACES. EVERYBODY NOW OPENING SMALL SHOPS IN FRONT OF THEIR HOUSE AND NOT MAKING SPACE FOR FRONT VEHICLE PARKING AND BACK SIDE FOR SMALL GARDEN FOR GREEN INDIA. YOU CAN SEE THE BEST EXAMPLE OF CANADIAN HOUSES.

Sir, I am a bank employee since 28+ years. As you know that easy money attracts every human being, I thought that share trading is a good way of earning easy money. I selected some of the good research companies, and subscribed. After subscription, I came to know that there is no consumer protection in this line. They are only interested in collecting the money as the fees and not bothered about the profit which they promised in the beginning.Govt. should look in this matter.
