I am proud to be a farmer's son. My father has been involved in farming for more than 40 years, and I have grown up watching his hard work, dedication and deep connection with the land. Through his journey, I have understood that farming is not simply about growing crops. It is about patience, sacrifice, uncertainty and a lifelong relationship with the soil. I have seen how much effort a farmer puts into every harvest. I have also understood that healthy soil and sufficient water are not just natural resources; they are the foundation of a farmer's livelihood and our country's food security. We should not leave the responsibility of saving our agricultural land to farmers alone. Protect Our Soil, Protect Our Future Soil is the foundation of agriculture and food security. Protecting soil health is not just the responsibility of farmers but a collective responsibility of every citizen. I would like to suggest the following measures to protect agricultural land and improve soil fertility: Promote Organic Farming: Encourage farmers to use compost, vermicompost, green manure and biofertilisers to improve soil fertility and reduce excessive chemical usage. Soil Testing Awareness: Make soil testing facilities easily accessible to every farmer and encourage regular testing through Soil Health Cards. Water Conservation: Promote rainwater harvesting, farm ponds, check dams and drip irrigation to conserve water and prevent soil erosion. Crop Rotation: Encourage crop rotation, mixed cropping and cultivation of legumes to maintain natural soil nutrients.
