The Ministry of Science & Technology, the Ministry of Earth Sciences and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in association with Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA), have created a unique platform of India International Science Festivals which intends to inspire curiosity and make learning more rewarding. Launched in 2015, IISF is a celebration to promote Science and Technology and demonstrate how science could lead India towards a developed nation within a short span of time.

वर्ष 2015 में अंतर्राष्‍ट्रीय मृदा वर्ष मनाया गया था। देश के हर खेत की पोषण स्थिति का मूल्‍यांकन करने के लिए इसी साल 19 फरवरी को मृदा स्‍वास्‍थ्‍य कार्ड जैसा भारत का अनोखा कार्यक्रम शुरू किया गया था। इस योजना का लक्ष्‍य देश के किसानों को हर दो साल में मृदा स्‍वास्‍थ्‍य कार्ड जारी करना है, ताकि खाद इत्‍यादि के बारे में मिट्टी पोषण कमियों को दूर किया जा सके। मिट्टी की जांच करने से खेती के खर्च में कमी आती है, क्‍योंकि जांच के बाद सही मात्रा में उर्वरक दिए जाते हैं। इस तरह उपज के बढ़ने से किसानों की आय में भी इजाफा होता है और बेहतर खेती संभव हो पाती है।

In order to encourage citizens to take the “Dekho Apna Desh” pledge, the Ministry of Tourism is pleased to announce prizes wherein 50 users would be picked up randomly through the system out of every 10,000 citizens who take the pledge will be presented with token merchandise branded with Incredible India. The citizens who have taken the pledge would be selected randomly through the system.

Fundamentally, skill development is the time one invests in to improve their proficiency and to stay future-ready, any agilities that one follows as a passion, and the ability to complete a task with higher rates of success at the right time. It is essential because one’s skills determine their ability to execute their plans with success.

In an attempt to promote value of water in general and for supporting country-wide efforts on water conservation and sustainable development of water resources, Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, Ministry of Jal Shakti launched a contest named “Water Heroes : Share Your Stories” from 1st September 2019 running till 30th June, 2020.

The National Entrepreneurship Awards, of the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, since 2016, has been Identifying, Promoting and Rewarding young upcoming entrepreneurs across the length and breadth of the country. However it is seldom that one comes across an entrepreneur who builds a business out of preserving tradition, lineage and pedigree, unique to the land they come from.

Commissionerate of Textiles, Maharashtra State, Nagpur, organized Logo design and Tagline writing Competitions, online through the “MyGov” portal in January 2019 in order to seek people’s involvement and participation for suggesting Logo design for the Commissionerate. A total of 572 entries were received for Logo Design from people of varied age groups and from different parts of the country.

The Census (2011) data showed a significant declining trend in the Child Sex Ratio1 (CSR) between 0-6 years with an all time low of 918. The issue of decline in the CSR is a major indicator of women disempowerment as it reflects both, pre-birth discrimination manifested through gender biased sex selection, and post birth discrimination against girls (in form of their health, nutrition, educational needs). Coordinated and convergent efforts are needed to ensure survival, protection and education of the girl child. In this background, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) Scheme was launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister on 22nd January, 2015 in Panipat, Haryana to address the issue of decline in CSR and related issues of empowerment of girls and women over a life cycle continuum.
