Digital India was conceived by weaving various strands of communication and information technology for digital empowerment of citizens and delivering better governance. Establishment of broadband highways forms the first pillar of Digital India. Therefore, timely commissioning of a reorganized version of National Optical Fibre Network (NOFN) is very imperative. The implementation of NOFN was not moving as per plans, TRAI had given certain recommendations on ‘Delivering Broadband Quickly: What do we need to do?’ dated 17th April, 2015. In addition, DoT had appointed an expert Committee which submitted its detailed report recommending rechristening of the project as BharatNet with three implementation models.

Some views regarding the implementation have been raised and therefore the Authority looked into one more possible alternate model –“Build-Own-Operate-Transfer” (BOOT) model. The Authority has come out with this Consultation Paper (CP) to discuss issues related to strategies to find best model of implementation for BharatNet.

India is the only country with slowest isp in Asia pacific region. Bsnl claimed to give 2mbps as a minimum speed on every plan(initiated by Digital India) but upto 1GB?? What's the purposely to doing it. What's it about ? Bsnl takes so many weeks sometimes month to install connection at your place and private isp install connection at the same day of request. The plans of private isp is with double speed or more as compare to bsnl plans.

Digital India scheme is excellent. Before move digital India we should stop the service providers exploiting peoples Money. example case is, I have top up internet account for Rs 200, once net amount depleted without our notice service provider deducting more money from main balance. They should not deduct from main balance, most of people not aware of this lost more money. I called up the service provider to complaint but they said this is policy cannot stop internet once internet balance 0.

Please provide Tax Holiday for all broadband users for 2 yrs, the usage is so low, it does not make sense to levy 14% service tax and 0.5% cess on broadband. This needs to wait. This tax is a major component which is spiking the prices of broadband (wire or mobile) Please look into it

I have been working at contractual post in Central Govt. Office since 5.3 yrs (total exp. 7.6 yrs) @ salary that not suitable for survive. I possess UGC-NET (LS), MLISc, M.Sc, BLISc, B.Sc and published 42 papers in Int. jrls, conf. and 7 chapters. My date of birth is 20/11/1979 (36 years) and due to over age, I cannot apply for more posts. My children hope that my father gets Govt. Job very soon but what answer should I given to them? after gaining the edu., exp., and talent, I am answerless
