Reserved tickets can be booked at Computerised Passenger Reservation System centres operated by Indian Railways and also online through website www.irctc.co.in. Unreserved tickets can be purchased from Computerised Unreserved Ticketing System counters and also Automatic Ticket Vending Machines which have been installed at major stations.

Suggest solutions for efficient ticketing system.

8. All mobile venders be given static vventure. Ventures should be 100 meter apart from each other and must have all common facility at its octa(8) face counters. Passengers don't have run here and there. 9. Railway stations may also defined as silence zone(for ensuring no halla-gulla). Trains: 1. Emergency pull chains must be replaced with new built in static Motorola provided with press to talk(PTT) with proper instruction displays as "How to Use"

5. Tickets must be printed on with entrance gate no. for each ticket holder for easy movement of masses. 6. Passengers must be asked to be present at busy railway station for check-in atleast one and half hour prior to their journey commencement and at general crowded station one hour prior. 7. No. of general boggis be increased. General tickets be replaced with color pattern slips and must not be issued over capacity of boggis. Passenger be advised to travel next day.

It will vanish autogerated corruption. 3. No. of entrance/ exit gate must be increased. Entrance gates should be provide at the center of railway station and exit gates at it both ends to manage crowd. 4. CISF personnel may be put on duty at entrance/ exit gates. So spare manpower of RPF personnel shall travel in train.

Ticketing system is good. Although I have some other points which are as follows:Platforms: 1. All railway platforms may be bulit closed type at both ends by provisioning of iron channel doors so as to ensure zero trespassing and also it can be opened in case emergency. 2. No. TTE personnel may be increased, and they must plz ensure 100% entrance of persons with travel ticket/ platform tickets. This way TTE need not to check passenger exiting and also no requirement of flying squad in trains.

I had booked a ticket for my Mom . She has her train tonight by 7 or 8 pm . Indian Railways had allotted her upper berth at this age . her age is 64 . whats wrong with Railways these days . I need the issue is resolved as soon as possible . Waiting ....... Pnr - 8735831710 .Kindly get back soon to me ..

Sir, Some times there is great rush at unreserved ticket windows in holidays or some occasions. But inspite of having facility of more counters at the railway station these are not put to use and we have the answer "Computer Kharab Hai...etc..etc

During the train journey we find the TTs filling up some forms, these are the statements on vacant seats basis which the TTs allocate seats to unreserved passengers. It is suggested that the TTs be provided with customized hand held devices connected with central server. The information on vacant seat would be available in transparent manner. This would lead to better customer services and revenues to Railways.

This can be a solution for efficient ticketing system. Unreserved tickets can be purchased by sending an SMS to some number in such a way name space From station code space To station code Fare may be deducted from the SIM balance. Passenger should start journey with any ID

Just now we checked at enquiry counter at Khandwa station (MP), the train (01712) is running 4 hours late & the person on window was saying that train is on time. Even the online also we were unable to get the train status because it is a holiday special train. These trains always runs late, why the railways not able to maintain these things???

Someone from railway ministry has to try to book tatkal ticket online, then they can understand our pain. I am sure they will not aware of the online ticket system even though they will not have any accounts on irctc.co.in. Making digital is easy, but where is the monitoring? Train enquiry system at window also worst, we can not get proper information on time.
