We dont have dustbins on each road..There our dustbins provided only in posh areas..common areas rarely have dustbins..as per my experience when i have to throw anything in dustbin i don't find it.so i keep it in my bag and throw it in my home dustbin..but im sure many people who want conviniency in everything throw it on roads because of no dustbin in vision.Hence i think dustbins shoud be provided in near distances.

To enable the Swachh Bharat mission more participle by the public, we should roll out "Adopt a roadway" scheme to public. In this scheme, we can invite public to adopt roadway/public place near to their residence or office. This adoption could be done by a group of people or family or individual. Their name shall be displayed by "This road/place is maintained by xxxxx" So they would be proud and take responsibility in maintaining the area clean.

I attended a conference in Pakistan recently. As we took Heritage Walk in old Lahore, a local delegate said, "The Pakistanis and the Indians have so much in common." "Architecture," said another, "art, music, recipes –" Just then, a banana peel descended in our way from a carved wooden balcony above. Both hastened to push it away with their feet. They were struck dumb by the sudden missile attack. "Yes, we equally share the culture too," I said, "of throwing garbage in public places."

Unless we collect all plastic from land field & recycle it properly we cant not achieve Swacha Bharat mission. These plastic can be used to make other useful products. If this can be achieved at village level. We should able to invent small machinery to recycle plastic at home & which should help farmers to get some extra income from small business( at least every farmer should get 5000 to 10000 rs per month) which should not be dependent on water or electricity. Please reply if u have any idea

The process should start from taking the end point in the perspective, first. For example, what is the use of collecting garbage if it will be dumped in a landfill or in sea? By such an act pollution is still there! In fact, it has spread!! So, there should be eco-friendly ways which should be adopted by BMCs and they should be STRICTLY followed. E.g. After garbage collection, steps should be- 1. Sorting 2. Recycling 3.Composting (biodegradable) And there must be MANY HUBS to do this.

Yes and no. There are some basic themes in both city and rural setup like water pollution, air pollution, sound pollution, soil erosion, etc. For these same themes, it would be cost effective to create uniform themes, and it must be done! At least basic guidelines should be common and firm. Start from there. Other than that, there will be separate issues for cities and rural areas from time to time. These issues should be tackled promptly, as and before they worsen. E.g. Mangrove in cities

#trackingprogress #nearesttoilet #nearestdustbin Hi As a part of the mission, every bathroom and every dustbin should be taggged on GPS. Also it should have a chip saying functional or dysfunctional Advantages: 1) government can track how many bathrooms and dustbins are in place and are functional 2) a beat map can be made of collecting garbage or cleaning toilets in a systematic fashion 3) any person who opens Google can see nearest toilet or dustbin
