single approach may not be helpful in urban and rural areas. In rural areas we can maintain cleanliness more easily with natural methods. Whereas in Urban areas to maintain cleanliness different methodology like moving the garbage / affluent with mechanical methods is approached. In both the sectors the method of lowering the production of garbage and affluent may be helpful. use of water to observe cleanliness should not be Ist choice.Rainy season is most unclean season owing to more water.

In govt offices, Old electronic items, old records, old furniture, old computers , photocopy machines, pile of printer cartridges have created unhealthy atmosphere. Why Govt office should have Curtains, Revolving cushioned chairs when they are not properly maintained. And why should Govt waste Public money on curtains cushioned chairs desert coolers when they can not be cleaned on time. It is seen that introduction IT items & photocopier in offices have just increased unclean surroundings.

Problem is huge. Cleanliness and healthy living should be a part of curriculum up PG level. Guidance to the public should be available regarding seasonal ailments, infections. It should be thought over that how to reduce garbage production in rural and urban areas. Some times even dust bins or similar other facilities itself becomes cause of dirty atmosphere. I have seen a pile of garbage collecting vehicles which itself become garbage. In homes a lot cleaning things becomes garbage.

Also for our scavengers who toil through dirt, garbage and are not even paid, we should employ them on a govt payroll, give them uniforms, provide their children with free education, health care to the family and a proper job with perks. It would help to make them feel valued and validate their efforts in keeping our homes clean. Also since these people are more economically under privileged and mostly uneducated, giving their children a future can be a great way to thank them for their efforts.

I think we need to realize that our garbage collection systems are obsolete and unable to cope with the volumes of today's cities. Hence, we firstly need to upgrade the number of vehicles for the garbage collection and hence increase the frequency of a garbage collection truck by atleast 50%. Apart from this, we can look at Korea which using an underground suction based garbage collection system which will take the entire garbage from the doorstep to the plant by an underground system

We need to have policy for garbage disposal pan India. Government has to provide the infrastructure and guidelines to all citizens Citizens have to follow these guidelines Simple process - Government to provide one point in each city where garbage can be dumped The garbage dump yard has to be made by professional company Commercial garbage: Any business entity - from hawker to restaurant owner to dispose of their garbage at the dumpyard.
