We bring to you this wonderful news that our city-Pasighat has been selected under 23 fast track cities by Govt. of India and we need to submit the revised plan by 15th April 2016. As we know that we worked very hard in our previous attempt however unfortunately we missed coming in the first 20 list of cities and finished at 39th rank - missing by just 3 points. Let us take this as a positive feedback that we were very close to winning it and were far ahead of many other big cities.

Looking ahead, we need to work on the gaps identified by Govt. of India to revamp the proposal. One of the key weaknesses identified is SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunities and Threat) analysis. Here, specifically, Weakness and Threat needs to be more elaborate. We have uploaded a discussion page on mygov portal about this aspect of proposal and need support of people of Pasighat to come up in big numbers and contribute towards this discussion. Let’s brace up for this challenge and work with renewed and reinvigorated spirit in the direction of making Pasighat a smart city.

There is sufficient space within township for vehicle parking areas. It should not be allowed for other purpose. The old fish market vacated last year is to be earmarked for vehicle parking.

Since smart city mean to build a sustainable City with basic infrastructures inclusive growth, there should also be room for urban poor in the form of affordable housing, employment generation etc. Emphasis should also be given to good governance including e governance.

More technical college/ university are required for making it an educational hub. Quality education is need of hour for future development. It will also give an opportunity for unemployed youth to get absorbed. There is sufficient land for setting up.

Pasighat is to be created as educational hub as it is located in most suitable place at easy access from any part of north east state. Though there is many technical and non technical college or schools is not catering to ever growing population.

Today E-Waste is also a great threat. The environmental effects can be horrific. Most electronic waste goes through a recycling system called a WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment), which recycles 95-98% of E-Waste. Bio-Toilets may be provided where toilets constructed in slum areas cannot be connected to drain lines. Rating may be done for all wards of Pasighat every year to promote competition among them on green and clean.

The land of Adis as a tourist destination with its unique trough like features surrounded by hills, a place where the mighty Siang river emerges from the foothills and the Green plains cover most of the land, where one finds waterfall in the North and lush green Tea gardens in the South.
