In order to engage with the stakeholders and invite comments from the public at large, the Department of Revenue has decided to make available the draft Model Laws on Goods and Services Tax (GST) in the public domain.

The draft law can be seen here. You are invited to submit your comments / feedback on the draft law through this discussion on MyGov.in .

To facilitate the analysis of the comments / feedback, you are requested to add a hashtag to your comments. The hashtags should be added using the following scheme:

Use the hashtag #IGSTChap1 for comments pertaining to Chapter 1 of the IGST Law, #IGSTChap2 for comments pertaining to the Chapter 2 of the IGST Law, etc.

Mr PRIME minister, there are around 4lakhs registered tax practitioners with dependent employment/employee/associates/service providers of around 34 lakhs , who are in the mainstream of providing all the services under all state and central acts, their role is applauded by all the commercial and income tax departments. without a proper nomenclated place for them in GST ACTTHE SME AND LARGE BUSINESS HOUSES WILL HAVE A STRESS ON COMPLIANC,PLEASE PROVIDE THEM WITH AUDIT UNDER NON CORPORATE SECTOR

GST IS CRAFTED WITH A LOAD OF CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS ON BUSINESS AND ENTERPRISE, NOT A GOOD SIGN FOR ALL THE STAKE HOLDERS, OTHER SERVICE PROVIDERS LIKE tax practitioners who are already registered and accepted under both state indirect taxes and central indirect taxes should be provided with sharing the services along with a parameter of non corporate audits to reg tax practitioners

Namasthe, preferred GST WOULD/SHOULD HAVE BEEN COMMON SINGLE RATE OF TAX AND INNER MECHANISM TO DIVIDE THE TAXES BETWEEN STATE AND CENTRAL, OCTROI AND ENTRY TAX USED AS TWO DIFFERENT NOMENCLATURE IN DIFFERENT STATES SHOULD SPECIFICALLY MENTIONED AS SUBSUMED IN gst CGST SGST IGST IS AS GOOD AS STATE SALES TAX CENTRAL SALES TAX WITH AN ADD ON OF igst proper mechanism of destination based tax should be ensured before implementation, otherwise will leaed to chaotic situation, litigations.

# After going through full draft it was noted by me that there is nothing mentioned about taxability of units situated in Tax free zone and enjoying tax holiday period as of now and some of them even having this period upto 2020. Please clarify that this tax benefit to them will continue or not.If not then then what will be the new proposal.

Dear Prime Minister I heard your Maan Ki Baat on 26/06/2016 Undoubtedly you are concerned to bring black money out of country. I want to draw your kind attention towards the problems faced by most of the businessmen in the country from Income Tax Department. At present this department is known to be blood sucker department in India and Indians do not take this department as a friendly department as considered in European countries though they pay high % of tax in comparison to Indians
