Waste segregation at source and proper processing of solid waste both from dustbins and latrines can alone help our 'SMART CITIES' to :
1)efficiently handle wastes
2)create more job opportunities
3)create a more eco friendly city with minimum carbon credits
4)create amenities such as plastic, wood, electricity, paper within the borders of the city so as to improve the services to people.

To making a smart and clean Coimbatore city. we have to first give priority to nature balance with today's life style. As we shown in past and present received a critical warning from climate on every season.this situation can control if we plant more and more trees in city. Avoid plastic use as less as possible because plastic is very bad waste which is not absorb material by nature.

City is not smart until it manages its waste well. Waste management process should be decentralised and locality based, quick and real time. It is surprising to note that 70% of waste is organic in nature & can be reprocessed before it becomes waste or, thereafter, can be recycled in a sustainable manner. We have invented a Green Waste Reprocessor machine which re‐process all green reject and converts it into valuable by‐products.

The city should implement the already prepared city mobility plan with adequate funding from smart city plan directed towards developing cycling tracks and green driveways. These should come at ideal locations like the lakes, Sanganoor canal and Noyyal River banks.

Coimbatore should have a well-developed intelligent transport system network. The corporation, Transport department, highways department and Police should join hands to evolve and develop a model and unique ITS for the city.

Provide smart bus shelters in all bus stops, both in old and extended corporation areas. The corporation has taken the right step to develop 50 hi-tech bus stops with private collaboration. There should be 10 air conditioned bus shelters in major locations and other smart bus stops with ATMs in other areas of the city. In extended and outlying areas, fix and assemble type bus shelters can be provided. The bus shelters can have roof top solar panels so that they can be self-sufficient in power r

Plan for nonpolluting public transport. Introduce CNG buses or fuel cell or solar buses. The city should have air conditioned bus services also. TNSTC should introduce smart cards also.
