Busstations should be moved the outskirts of the city and regular shuttle service provided for passengers to reach these stations from the citycentre.Only local and suburban buses should ply within the city.Police should fine drivers on the spot for speeding and not stopping at designated bus stops.Toll free numbers should be provided for registering complaints and immediate action should be taken.

Pasting of banners and display of banners in road junctions and traffic signals should be completely prohibited.Cinema posters should be totally banned and so also political messages except in specially designated areas .There should be a charge for display of these posters and corporation can get a decent revenue from this.

Waste management is a priority area for the city. Segregation of waste at source is important and collection from every household should be done. This is best done my private-govt partnership. The work of collection can be entrusted to NGOs also. Funding can come form contributions from taxpayers in the form of waste collection cess.

Coimbatore has always been known for innovation and entrepreneurship. The city lacks good roads and traffic management is poor.Pedestrians are at the mercy of vehicle users on the road.Heavy vehicles shouldnt be allowed into the narrow roads at all. This can be done by making bypass roads and circular roads in the outskirts.Pedestrian crossings with automated signals and footbridges are needed in many places. Flyovers are needed where train crossings happen within the city.

It is a common myth that making a city smart ALWAYS needs a lot of money. It is not true.Smart City needs Smart citizens and Smart moves. There are several initiatives possible. I have ideas that can make a difference in the areas of Traffic, Waste Management, Pollution Control and ensuring performance of Government Staff. Would like to present these in person to concerned authorities. I am uploading one such example which can reduce over all Air Pollution levels by 9 - 10 %.

My Suggestion are, 1. Strict rules to be implemented for not obeying the traffic rules. 2. Public transport drivers should be requested to control their speed when they are on the road. 3. Public transport should stop only in the bus stops. Especially in School zones. 4. Cleaning the drainage and rubbish bins on daily basis. 5. Street lights in all the streets. 6. Improving night time security by Police. 7. Priority counters for Senior Citizens in all the gov. offices.
