The country is well endowed with many metallic and non-metallic mineral resources.  India is a leading player in respect of many non fuel minerals including, iron ore, bauxite, dolomite, lime stone and mica.  Mining sector (non-fuel) currently accounts for approx 0.5% of GDP.  For accelerated economic growth on sustainable basis, this sector has to grow at a much faster pace to secure   a higher percentage in the GDP.

Scientific, sustainable and transparent mining practices require well trained manpower.  Skill development not only enhances productivity and safety at work place, but more importantly, it prepares the manpower to adapt to the new state of art technologies. Currently this sector employs around 0.2 Million workforce which is estimated to grow to 0.3 Million in next 10 years.

THE UGC/AICTE MAY DISCOUNTINUE THE TRADITIONAL PRACTICE OF GUIDESHIP / SUPERVISION BY SOME FACULTY TO RESEARCH SCHOLARS. ONCE THE ADMISSION FORMALITIES ARE OVER, THE SCHOLARS SHOULD BE PERMITTED TO COMPLETE THE COURSE AS PER THE TIME GIVEN I.E., 3 OR 4 YEARS. THESE SCHOLARS SHOULD HAVE FREEDOM TO PREPARE THE THESIS ON THE CHOSEN INTEREST. IF THE SCHOLARS ARE NOT ABLE TO COMPLETE THEIR STUDY WITHIN THE STIPULATED PERIOD, THE LOSS OCCURS TO THE STUDENTS ONLY.

IN RESEARCH COURSES, THE TRADITIONAL PRACTICE OF GUIDESHIP TO SCHOLARS SHOULD BE DISCONTINUED. IT LEADS TO SO MANY PRACTICAL DIFFICULTIES WHICH CANNOT BE STATED BUT EVERY BODY AWARE ABOUT THESE UNETHICAL PRACTICES THOSE WHO ARE IN THE RESEARCH LINE.

THE SKILL DEVELOPMENT SKILLS IMPARTED BY THE GOVT., E,G., UNIVERSITIES, TECHNICAL INSTITUTES OWNED/RECOGNISED BY GOVT., ARE CONSIDERED FOR JOBS IN GOVT., SECTOR. BUT THE GOVT., RECRUITERS WILL NOT SAY ANYTHING ABOUT SKILLS IMPARTED BY PRIVATE SECTOR.IN THIS CONTEXT GOVT., SECTOR IS THE BEST ONE FOR EMPLOYMENT..

thank you desh ubal raha hai badlaw aa raha hai.. I saw wastage of water and electricity in so many places.... when supply water comes in my colony it keeps overflowing...people hardly give a damn to it as it is very very cheap..street lights remains ON in Noon time...kindly encourage people to reduce wastage...as saving is earnin ask people to adopt blocks where no wastage will take place,a govt. plumber and electrician should be appointed who can rectify leakage and/or charges a minimal amt.
