The country is well endowed with many metallic and non-metallic mineral resources.  India is a leading player in respect of many non fuel minerals including, iron ore, bauxite, dolomite, lime stone and mica.  Mining sector (non-fuel) currently accounts for approx 0.5% of GDP.  For accelerated economic growth on sustainable basis, this sector has to grow at a much faster pace to secure   a higher percentage in the GDP.

Scientific, sustainable and transparent mining practices require well trained manpower.  Skill development not only enhances productivity and safety at work place, but more importantly, it prepares the manpower to adapt to the new state of art technologies. Currently this sector employs around 0.2 Million workforce which is estimated to grow to 0.3 Million in next 10 years.

There should be both govt as well as pvt players invited. Both of them have to be given a level playing field and allowed to compete. As a result, the capabilities of the public authorities will also improve. The ministry should determine and audit the benchmarks of training though, and it should be done by a panel of renowned subject matter experts.

Sir, for a successful egov model, the local body needs a strong software platform, all the currently available ERP products are not capable of fulfilling the needs of a City Govt. Being a very small market neither SAP nor Oracle is interested in investing in changing their software to meet Cities requirement. I feel GOI must invest in RnD and IITs may be given a project to develop indigenous software platform (ERP product) which may be made available free for India Cities.

The schools,Universities,Judiciary all put in very few hours in a year.Festival holidays can be split and made as 'Optional' for the respective community. Give holiday for Diwali, Ramzan Idd, Christmas only.Rest of the festivals can be optional holiday.Give incentive for not availing holiday. The vacations for judiciary should be completely abolished (There are lacs of pending cases)Make them work
