A webinar on “Transforming the Health Sector: Union Budget 2021 – Strategies for Implementation” is being organized by the Department of Health & Family Welfare along with the Department of Health Research (DHR), M/o AYUSH and Department of Pharmaceuticals on 23rd February 2021 from 10.30 AM – 1.00PM. The webinar will enable sharing of the key highlights of the budget in respect of the health sector and broad strategies for implementation which build on and leverage reforms, enacted over the past few years. Invited experts will reflect on the challenges and opportunities for strengthening policy reform and implementation and provide suggestions on effective partnerships for positive outcomes. Experts are drawn from academia, research institutions, public health experts, Industry, State health officials, Directors of AIIMS, PGI, JIPMER, NIMHANS, other Central Government Institutions and representatives from FICCI, CII, ASOCHAM, PHD Chamber of Commerce, Healthcare Federation of India.

The key announcements in the Union Budget related to Health Sector are as follows and we seek ideas and suggestions from the public and other stakeholders on the same:

1. Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccine to be rolled across the country
2. ₹35000 crore for Covid-19 Vaccine in 2021-22
3. Supplementary Nutrition Programme and Poshan Abhiyan to be merged and launched as Mission Poshan 2.0
4. Outlay ₹64180 crore over 6 years
5. Support for Health and Wellness centres
6. Setting up of Integrated Public Health Labs
7. Establishing critical care hospital blocks
8. Strengthening NCDC
9. Expanding integrated health information portal
10. National Commission for Allied Healthcare Professionals Bill
11. The National Nursing and Midwifery Commission

स्वास्थ्य बजट 2021 के लिए बहुत ज्यादा आर्थिक सहायता की आवश्यकता है। कारोना महामारी के कारण स्वास्थ्य क्षेत्र को अधिक सहायता की आवश्यकता ह। सरकार की स्वास्थ्य क्षेत्र ले विशेष ध्यान केंद्रित करने की आवश्यकता है। जय हिन्द जय भारत।

Budgeted expenditure for capital outlay in defence increased by approx. 19%, highest in 15 years Disinvestment aimed in the sector to increase opportunities for private players Reduction in customs duty rates to nil for import of parts by public sector units (under Ministry of Defence) for manufacturing of aircrafts and parts.

Health infrastructure shows the development of any country . I hope the Government take necessary steps to do to implement the budget intiatives for health sector . The government can promote the modern equipment & techniques for health . The government can provide good infrastructure . The government can take necessary steps to improve the health facilities in rural & backward areas .

The health sector plays a major role in the Pandemic situation Modern equipment for the hospitals should be introduced so that the doctors can overcome any further situations Improving the health facilities in rural areas is very important as most of the rural areas lack health facilities Especially in the remote areas of the country Hospitals and Clinics must be setup for the poor and needy people The budget should include special provisions to provide funds for their maintenance

govt should fix responsibility of concerned in case of medical negligence as its very difficult in current scenario to fix medical responsibility in case of negligence thus govt should appoint a commission where any citizen can launch complaint free of cost and free from any fear and will get justice in fixed time
