With globalization and liberalization of Indian Economy in last two decades, numerous domestic and international companies have been drawn to investing in new modes of business/ business models targeted at the huge domestic market especially in the consumer goods & services. Direct Selling is one of these modes where goods /services are sold directly by the producer/service provider to the consumers. For this different models such as Multi Level/Network marketing, Door to Door Selling, Online Selling, Tele-shopping are being used. These practices are new and different from traditional retail through shops. In the absence of a proper regulatory framework, retail through these models leads to consumer grievances, trader’s issues, slow growth of the sector etc.

The aim of this discussion is to deliberate and evolve views of all stakeholders for providing a regulatory framework to the sector.

Dear Sir, The government should think of creating farmers markets so direct farmers can sell their products in this way both farmers and consumers will be benefited apart from this should also think of setting up Super bazaar types selling products at competitive prices.

The government should come with some mechanism to look the prices of such essential commodities as mentioned above and for vegetable and fruits also. There should be a sealing price. The hike should happen only after some notification. There are lobby of Rich businessmen s, playing dirty by stocking and creating a hiph to increase the price later. Now with the monsoon coming the PRICE for ONION will be ROCKET high.

Continue previous-- Shopping Malls they are giving up to 40% discount. By this way direct sellers charging full MRP and consumer only to make ful. On example is The 1 Ltr. Packed Water Bottle, its production cost is Rs. 06/- only inclusive all, but there is MRP printed is Rs. 20/- which is not justified. My suggestion is Govt should make some guidelines, how to decide MRP it should not be 50% more then of Production cost. I think some body from our Govt. will look this point to stop fraud.

Dear Sir, This is a very serious matter, every where consumer is not safe, Consumer always e get fraud from direct selling. We see MRP on every product means Maximum Retail Price, tthis is because of Govt. regulatory. Do we Know how to producer fix MRP, there is no any procedure or any guide line, they fixing on there own way, due to this If we go to market some seller costing on full MRP, some giving 5% discounts, In Cosmatics etc shop keeper giving 5-10% discount but if we purchase from

In most of the cases consumers are not aware about their rights and in some other cases people don't know how to contact consumer court. There should be a forum which will work on request quickly. If govt is inviting foreign co. in our country to work and to increase business with us then it's govt responsibility that they will keep a close watch that these companies should not cheat the public and if they are doing so than there should be a dept that consumer can approach easily.

#MinistryofFinance #blackmoney Lot of shops charge cooling charges in the beverages bought and avoid giving bills for that. This itself generates a huge amount of black money indirectly

COINAGE AND PRICING Under this head, my suggestions are : 1. We have only coin of 50 paise, but medicines are priced at very odd amount. The Government should take regulate the same to nearest Rupee or 50 paise, to easy the transaction. 2. Under different laws, the Govt fixes wages etc, here to the amount so fixed which looks funny. It should be fixed to nearest rupee or in tens. 3. This will remove anamoly of barter system, where chocolate/toffee are used to complete a transaction.
