First and foremost we have to take measures on stopping the rituals that are performed on the banks of Ganga as that is the major cause for pollution. Few visuals that was shown on TV had industrial affluent dumped in the river. Rituals are significant part of us Hindus stringent action needs to be taken who throw the left overs such as garlands, plastic etc into the river and heavy fines need to be imposed and random checks needed by authorities to keep a check on inspectors who levy fines

Water way tourism on the Ganga river may bring continuous water pollution as when tourists are in group then they behave in excited manner and do not abide by rules and regulations. We have to maintain sanctity of Ganga water and then only "clean Ganga" campaign will be successful. Of course, we can set up tourist places by the side of Ganga river at many religious places and enhance tourism. Govt should engage tourism professionals in tourism sector.

Dirty areas near by Ganga Ghat in Hardwar have a negative impact on tourism. The only solution that can lead to a clean Hardwar is that all the shop keepers, owner of hotels and restaurants should be assigned duty to clean the front area of their shops, restaurants and hotels respectively. If they are found guilty of not taking due steps for cleanliness then fine should be officially declared by Govt. and after this official declaration some officials should make sudden visit on monthly basis.

Banks of Ganga must be moderised and filled with some shops to attract people. At the same time , there should be continous efforts to clean it and heavy fines imposed on the person doing it dirty. All efforts should be placed like the security cameras and just like the traffic challans, these should be impostered at any cost.

100% effective ban should be done on polythenes and high security to bo done at the bank of Ganga rivers. If anyone put waster material in the Ganga river, high punishment and imprisonment to be given to that concerned people or company or industry. Polythene producer companies shall be closed with immediate effect. It will benefit notonly for Ganga butalso for other rivers and for whole India
