yes, this initiative should be replicated for other rivers also. to keep ganga clean the water ways should be operated under Build, Operate and give basis. a private who ensure the cleanliness of the Ganga should only be given the opurtunity to operate the their water transports. and also we can make the river a faster way to transport the heavy goods by that way we can generate more capital to clean Ganga. One thing that can be done is that to divide the entire Ganga waterway in small segments. Each small segment can be given to a specific boat operator with the responsibility of keeping that segment of the river clean. Cleaner the segment of the river more the fare of the journey!(to keep maximum cap value), ensuring both tourism and cleanliness of river Ganga.

पालीथीन का शतप्रतिशत प्रतिबन्ध ही गंगा की सफाई में सरकार का बहुत बड़ा योगदान होगा !!! सरकार पालीथीन के उपयोग पर प्रतिबन्ध लगा रही है जो कि सही है लेकिन अगर सरकार सक्त कदम उठाये और पालीथीन बनाने वालों के खिलाफ़ क़ानूनी कार्यवाही कर इसके निर्माण पर ही प्रतिबन्ध लगा दे तो ज्यादा अच्छा रहेगा !!!! सरकार को पालीथीन के बदले कपड़े के बैग सस्ते दाम में मार्केट में उतरना चाहिए ... मंदिरों में फूल , नारियल व् प्रसाद चढ़ा कर वहां छोड़ने पर पूर्णतया प्रतिबन्ध लगाना चाहिए !

I had visited Rishikesh and H'war a few yrs back. What made me feel rediculous is that people were unscrupulously emptying filty water (coming from hotels, industries etc) into pristine Ganges river and those people were enchanting mantras and worshiping Maa Ganga at where they were doing this offence. Is this the way to convey our prayer to Maa Ganga??!!

Respected PM, in the rivers connecting project the proposed waterways have been sketched on Map.There is need to be cautious about the impacts during and after construction of these waterways and in the suitable designs of structures at different locations so that the natural hydrology,natural drainage in catchment areas,geology of rock fissures,dividing lines(topographical ridges)of different river basin areas,natural streams are not disturbed or interfered. Because they will cause new problems
