all roads should be bitumen roads without any pot holes to avoid stagnation of water. All wells, sumps, water tanks to be closed tightly. Fumigation to be done regularly to kill all larvae, so that we can avoid breeding. All waterways to be kept clean.

Most of the vector borne diseases can be prevented if water stagnation is completely prevented.Coming to malaria which is most common vector borne disease I would like to bring attention to the point that female anopheles mosquito become infectious only after sucking blood of a person suffering from malaria already. So it should be ensured that mosquitoes don't bite patient of malaria.Lastly people should do exercise daily in morning to strengthen immune power.

There is more for civic authorities to do than medics. Vector-borne diseases can be stopped more effectively by not allowing the vectors (mosquitoes, ticks, insects, etc.) to breed. The most common breeding ground happens to be areas with stagnant water. The Govt. should ensure that facilities it can control, such as, canals, ponds, locks, etc. do not accumulate stagnant water. Ensuring proper drainage will also ensure that stormwater and rainwater does not pile up and remain stagnant.

FIRST OF ALL SWACHH bharat mission will succeed only if the govt imposes fine on littering. every police officer should be proved with a special chalan book..be it the traffic police ,or the rest, and should be given to all the posts like even hawaldars..this will maximize its credibility. also you can give the chalan books to lawyers even. i live in delhi , there are almost no dustbins.. they should be at every corner of the blocks.

Sir, people should be educated about the symptoms of vector borne illnesses, much before the "season", most of these illnesses are seasonal. They should be advised on clean living practises, use of approved repellents & insecticides, need for immunisation, if available & preventive isolation if need be. Local civic & health authorities should use flyers & mobile messages to warn in case of epidemics & be prepared with lab & medical facilities. Endemic areas should be aggressively monitored.
