There should be investment in the area of production of all Medical Equipment in India in view of booming healthcare sector. It should be MAKE IN INDIA. Also exported to other countries. There should also be R&D in the area of biomedical engineering. We continue to import costly, high tech medical equipment. It should not happen anymore. We have the talent and the market too. It will also help in Skill Development too.

PART 5: As trained manpower is easily available in urban areas. Then could be gradually extended to rural areas with appropriate incentives. This not a perfect idea and could be modified with time and experience. This could be seen as a first step towards the goal of universal publicly funded high quality health care. Thank you.

PART 4: Current Govt infrastructure in urban areas PHC/ municipality clinics could be upgraded to poly clinics/ small hospitals. These could be used for minor procedures that cannot be performed at primary doctor's clinic. Basic medical graduates (MBBS preferably with some additional training in primary care through a course or diploma) would be eligible to bid for the contract/ tender. Initially this scheme could be piloted in urban (district/taluq headquarters and other big cities). Contd.

PART 3: Tender/ contract could include basic payment and also additional incentives for meeting the national priorities. Quality of the services and the financial transactions could be audited periodically using Aadhar number (to over come the problem of duplicate/ fictitious patients and other fraud). Provision for the citizens to change their doctor if they are unhappy with the current doctor or if they move their home. With E-health records the transition would be smooth. Contd.....

PART 2 Create a national heath record system (web enabled) All of this could be underpinned by the Aadhar number Concerned patient or authorised physician/ hospital can access these records (with patient's consent) Each patient can have only one named physician. All the govt programmes can be channelled through this. Govt can provide funds for the infrastructure (staff, IT equipment, records keeping) for those who win the tender/ contract. Contd....

Dear Modiji, I want to see India's healthcare transform under your leadership. This is my suggestion (loosely based on UK NHS): PART 1 (split into multiple posts due to character limit) Let the process begin in urban areas. Strengthen the primary care infrastructure as a vehicle for delivering universal healthcare. Use the vast untapped private sector pool. Govt can tender out the provision of primary medical care Each citizen has a named physician Contd..

I was following the G20 summit in Brisbane last week and your speech in Sydney to the Indian diaspora. I really welcome your appeal to Indian living abroad to invest in the country and create more jobs for youth. You said you are changing law to make investment easier in India. I am curious to know do you consider dual citizenship into this.

I dream of becoming a pilot. DGCA has a regulation that all students must have Science and Maths in high school. Other countries scrapped this regulation decade ago. India is a potential market for pilot training. I know people who are better pilots without Science and physics. Do think about this and see your children become future pilots. India can give cheaper but good training. NRI investment has a crucial role in this. Some indians bcome NRI and train abroad and get a job there bcoz of this

I was born in Fiji Islands. My parents and my grandparents and ancestors were born in Gujarat , India. I continue to maintain strong links my parents place of birth. I am unable to obtain my parents Birth Certificate or School Leaving Certificate because the officials will not help. They always make excuses and not give these certificates
