The role of institutions of higher education in societal development is becoming increasing significant. In recent years, higher education has isolated itself from the society and there is a need to re-establish and strengthen higher education’s close linkages with the society. How can Universities foster social responsibility and engage in community outreach programmes. Sharing some working examples would also be a useful input.

Iam a CA student whose also pursuing my b.com in an evening college.. I beleive evening coll idea is highly underrated.. U can learn and earn at the same time.. there should be more universities of this kind .. I see housewives, nuns and so many people of different ages in one class which is highly unlikely to happen in a day coll... So my motto Earn & Learn I hope i get some responses to this thought..

Sir, I know the semester system have brought some relief on the students..but we still have lot of burden on us-like 1. We have more syllabus but less time 2. Also there are some topics which are totally useless, 3. And the most important things our education system is lacking that students have very less pratical knowledge..which is the most important for any student...Also i request you to add more pictures in our textbooks..which attracts us towards the topic.

Currently government spends a lot in the name of education. Same time parents send their kids to private schools. Here also government taxes the parents in the name of RTE (right to education). My suggestion is provide building infrastructure for the school in each ward/village. This should be the only involvement of government in education. Parents who send the kids to the school should handle all the affairs of the school. Parents should form committee to manage the school. Salary to teachers

THERE SHOULD BE AT LEAST ONE COLLEGE FOR ARTISTS IN EVERY DISTRICT/. BECAUSE IN OUR SCHOOL MANY OF THE ARE INTERESTED IN DRAWING AND OTHER EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES BUT THEY DIDN'T HAVE SUFFICIENT EDUCATION FACILITIES SO THEY WANTED TO STOP THEIR HIGHER STUDIES AND SITTING IN HOME AND DO SOME ARTS.

most of our univ are open in day time only and they r just running their regular courses.so i would suggest use these premises to start evening skill development courses or regular degree courses for society(here society means everyone like entrepreneur, retired ,young, old, unemployed)and ultimately when diff person from diffrent background/age will come together under one roof than it will make a link between society and Universities.

Dont create collages and cources for whom their are very less job oppourtunities available. Stop creating talent excess. This is causing depressive disorder to many.

We should give more stress on analytical teaching then just remembering facts like various historical dates & geographical places. this will develop reasoning and analysis technique vital in all spheres of life and make these subjects participative & interesting.
