The private sector already has storage and distribution capability. FCI should actually leverage the private sector's capability by outsourcing and having it's existing storage managed by them. FCI's function should be to define & ensure SLAs are met.

I had the honour to work on the first food storage silo installed in India at Hapur in UP in 1958. The present storage system is on LIFO system while it should be FIFO system.

There is two major loss in FCI. First loss of food grains in warehouse as we can't identify the old bags and Second is due to lost of grains bags in transit. THE ONLY WAY IS "TAGGING" OF FOOD GRAIN BAGS. Tagging very economical and can save tons of food grain bag as we can know the entry and exit of bag through computer system. If govt. wants then I can submit the blue print of whole surveillance model for FCI on centralized manner which can save hundreds of crores of food grains. Thanks.

EveryVillage or district can be included in this project of food storage/processing. On PPP model various companies involved in food processing & retail marketing can be assigned certain areas or contracts for development of the agri sector with the help of Agri dept. in concurrence with village panchayats. So that proper pricing for agri products to the farmers cannot be compromised......Jai Hind

Analytics skill development through applied mathematics, statistics and computing classes. We need to build analytics education from school level and also have it included in vocational training institutes all over the country. This will ensure a steady talent pool for defence and strategic research in space and cyber space and forensic sciences. These are just a few examples where analytics can play a critical role for India. There is also a need to build cyber army of hackers

FCI is an organ. which proves a bless during war or any crisis. The process must be improved though it is not necessary to ramify.Cite it from services provided by myntra, flipkart.,when they can reach why cant our grain mgmt b optimized.Want to let u know that even a burger does not get wasted in US due to their optimized solutions and algorithms(I've worked on same). 2dly, FCI is a requisite nd today a huge profit is possible provided optimized storage, transit, delivery,FIRST START IT BETTER!

All Godown should be built in scientific manner which reduce the quantity of loss during storage of food grains.Maximum loss of fci occur during the moving of food grains during transpotaion via Rail during loading and unloading of food grains according my point of view there should be on contractor for loading and unloading of food grain and take all responsibilty of moving of food grains without any loss .
