Today's Indian youth is Impatient yet selfless, but is certainly surrounded by the people who will demotivate him saying "Ye to aise hi hota hai" I wish Modiji comes up with a mobile APP where any citizen can easily raise complaints and suggestion to solve problem like.
1. Corruption
2. Inefficiency of Govt Staff / Department.
3. Building Humanity.
4. Making groups for social and development work etc
Hopefully the concept is further thought on.

1. National Youth Day may be given the slogan "Respect for the Good in the society" which in effect is contained in Asato Ma Sat Gamaya.
2. If the good meets respect from the young, corruption and other social evils shall decline.
3. Respect for the good must be inspired as a whistle blower act. Grooming the young into whistle blowers is a must if we are to realize the truth of Asato Ma Sat Gamaya.

We must have an all India writing competition on 'YOUR IDEAS TO BUILD A STRONG NATION'.
JUNIORS AND SENIORS AGE GROUP SHOULD BE SEPARATE.
In another event 'FAILFEST'-Sucessful Adults (parents and older siblings) must come to school and share their stories of 'FROM FAILURE TO SUCCESS' in order to motivate more students to be a part of the nation building. This will become a moral boost up for the usual back-benchers.

Continued.. Involving students/youth in volunteer activities like 1.Cleanliness exercise, 2. Tree planting 3. Awareness programmes on water conservation, waste management and recycling etc. 4. Annadhaan 5. Music/Art/cultural programmes and many others. Activities like these promote team spirit, cooperation and a sense of purpose by working for a cause far beyond oneself.

Many good suggestions are already given. I would like to emphasise just 2 points.
1. More focus should be given on Swami Vivekananda's teachings, his ideas and the values he stood, rather than stories about his life.
2. Swamiji's idea of true education is Character Building, universal brotherhood & developing the power of concentration. But many schools nowadays focus only on exams, bookish learning & competition (Me vs Others mentality) instead of critical thinking & volunteer spirit

Vivekananada's heart bled for the poor and downtrodden of the country. So some of the activities that Youth could take up on this day....
1. Medical Students can hold free Medical Camps, Engineering Students can reach out to nearby villages and build well, repair school, build bund for sloping lands, create a playground or whatever is the need of the village.
2. Knowledge Sharing A month or year long activity to adopt a village school and provide educational support.
