India is one of the leaders in sustainable development and clean energy. With the Hon PM Narendra Modi-led government’s reform-oriented, environment-friendly policies, the country has time & again shown that sound environmental policies can pave the way to a sound economy.

At the UN Climate Change Conference COP26 in 2021, PM Shri Narendra Modi announced the ‘LiFE’, a mission to bring individual behavioural change at the forefront of the global climate action narrative. LIFE or Lifestyle for Environment along with the ‘Pro Planet People’ movement, aims to strengthen the efforts to overcome climate change.

LiFE will replace the prevailing 'use-and-throw’ thinking with an environmentally conscious lifestyle. The Mission is to create a global community of ‘Pro-Planet People’ (P3), who with their shared commitment will adopt and promote environmentally friendly lifestyles.

Individual Efforts Are Key to Climate Commitment

India's traditional knowledge strongly positions it to lead the narrative of addressing climate change. Like many other mass movements, LiFE aims to inspire climate action based on the mantra of ‘Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas’.

MyGov invites you to share your ideas and suggestions on how to adapt to an environmentally conscious lifestyle.

1. Reduce
2. Reuse
3. Recycle
4. Renewable
5. Recover
6. Re-design
7. Re-manufacture

Few examples for the above:
Reduce - Electricity, Fuel Usage
Reuse - Old Clothes, Electronics, Building materials, furniture
Recycle - Plastic, newspapers, cartons, boxes
Renewable - Solar, Wind, Hydro, Tidal, Geothermal & Biomass
Recover - Forests, rivers, soil, mountains, wildlife
Redesign - Green buildings
Remanufacture - E-waste for new purposes

Our civilisational values have taught us the importance of living in harmony with nature. Today, let’s come together to protect our environment & take forward Mission LiFE - Lifestyle for Environment.

Cont'd----The scrap generation for automotive should get fast clearances from RTO. As they are fuel guzzlers. Recycling can reduce imports of prime raw materials to a major extent saving foreign exchange. We need to close the gap between Scrap vendors and manufacturers for quality issues to reuse major portion without sacrificing quality. This can give scope for getting automotive or different scraps from abroad for sorting in a mechanized way creating employment & rawmaterials for recycling at lower prices. The last phase of scrap is shredding & pulverizing unwanted materials for fillers in certain products. Or for road or concrete fills for permanent disposal without ground water contamination. There are lots of recycling units sorting out imported scrap. We should be careful in importing as they might dump hazardous scrap which can get into soil or landfill which can get into ground water contaminating with carcogenic substan ces causing cancer over long periods.Needto be aware.

R7-- Remanufacture E-waste & automobile scrap.Govt with the help of manufacturers should decide the disposal procedure. You just can't leave it to scrap vendor to do the postmortem. He doesn't have the knowledge of disposal of hazardous items. We should have mechanized or more organized systems to retrieve or make the best use of scrap for recycling purposes. We are generating more scrap from automotive to computers. Generally recycling is labour oriented in our country. Developed countries they simply put to high power shredder as man hours is costly & quantities are large. Recycling is less energy intensive compared to producing from ore or crude for plastics. Generally this can be easily mixed in large quantities along with prime materials. The cleaner the scrap without contamination better its for the manufacturer. I have said this before on this portal for sorting out electronic scrap. The scrap generation for automotive should get fast clearances from RTO. As they are cont'd---

LIFE -- how is it that India continues to have lacs of beggars & when we have MNREGA ? how is it that there is not 1 site where beggar r employed ? y can't it be done , involving them in cleanliness, leave vacancy to be filled by them or apprentice ship. Reduce the number of permanent workers. many other options to employ beggars so that they work and earn . Also offer opportunity for student apprenticeship. Govt midday meals, agriculture research , jail work , working in parliament, vidhansabha canteens , gardens , cleaning, serving the PM, the queen sonia . daily round up a few score -known faces, get the aadhar vetted, shown on DD for a week , check credentials. where there is a will, there is a way .Biggest problem leeches exist 1ly to suck blood. India would be better off declaring it officially, It is taxpayers duty to protect them just like tigers, other birds &animals the pets of maliks of India ! Tell us of 100 cr+ ur contribution to environment ? to destroy producers!

LIFE- u can only breathe & speak if you get the food right ! has it ever been taught. which food/drink , at what time , frequency to improve , correct , breath, speech . what effort is required. do any parents/teachers it ! now a days u get midday meals, parents teachers, children it is a state job to feed them - so no wonder Indians have been reduced to self propagating leeches . Now they number 100 crores. even animal world, the 1st thing taught is to how to get the food. Here apprenticeship is considered child labour . shouldn't the student by 2nd/3rd standard if not earlier know , how the food is brought on his table and what effort it takes to feed him ! y not involve them in getting to know 1st & contributing to, serving midday meal, especially at school. Isn't this teaching most important drop the worthless, history social science & help him to be a human ! This is where upanishads score over. Take me to light, from darkness, to knowledge fm ignorance thru practice.
