Nearly a decade and half has passed since the National Policy for Empowerment of Women, 2001 was formulated. Since then significant strides in global technology and information systems have placed the Indian economy on a trajectory of higher growth impacting the general populace and women, in particular in unique and different ways. The discourse on women’s empowerment has been gradually evolving over the last few decades, wherein paradigm shifts have occurred –from seeing women as mere recipients of welfare benefits to mainstreaming gender concerns and engaging them in the development process of the country. These changes have brought forth fresh opportunities and possibilities for women’s empowerment while at the same time presenting new and emerging challenges which along with persisting socio-economic problems continue to hinder gender equality and holistic empowerment of women.

The policy envisions a society in which, women attain their full potential and are able to participate as equal partners in all spheres of life. It also emphasises the role of an effective framework to enable the process of developing policies, programmes and practices which will ensure equal rights and opportunities for women.

The broad objective of the policy is to create a conducive socio-cultural, economic and political environment to enable women enjoy de jure and de facto fundamental rights and realize their full potential.

Priority Areas

1. Health including food security and nutrition
2. Education
3. Economy

This feminist agenda of the government is what will ruin the nation. All that Men have worked for will be un done because men are being treated as 2nd class citizens. If this attitude of the government continues, 2 things are sure to happen, the entire nation will collapse and anarchy will spread and become 1000 times more stronger than the government. The feminist poison that is being spewed by Maneka Gandhi is evident in that National Policy for Women 2016. #ScrapTheDraft now!

India doesn't need a new policy for women. Already we are having more than 50 women centric laws. Stop being biased end legal terrorism. Stop Abuse Of MEN As #MenRHumanToo If we see the statistics 64000 men suicide every year which is double of women because of fakecases. Instead work for real issues.

This government as well as other governments before it seems to think that they can get equality by positive discrimination. As a result, an entire generation of men are being raised that are shamed because of their gender and an entire generation of women who think they are entitled to everything and have no duties.

this is completely biased policy. on the name of women empowerment , men are being cheated all the time. its already there.. tons of biased marital laws. please stop doing these. provide them same opportunity as of men, not lesser than that which is already there. otherwise in near future this women empowerment will be like the same issue of Reservation today. no new govt will be able to make any good changes in these once these will be implemented. better to stop it now.

National Policy for Women to discriminate against differently abled males. The policy changes will not only create huge discrimination against males at all levels but will ensure that the men are selectively thrown out of the mainstream society by a structured approach. Surely this has nothing to do with development and will create unnecessary gender hatred and huge imbalance in the society.

Why so biased policy. The fact is in today's INDIA men are already facing so much humiliation from women in different types like false cases & allegation. And our judiciary system is also biased towards women. If anyone think carefully its ruining our society. Please no need for such kind of biased policy. Stats shows many men have committed suicide because of humiliation caused by wife & his in-laws. PLEASE TEACH CHILD(BOY OR GIRL)TO RESPECT EVERYONE NOT ONE GENDER. MEN ARE ALSO HUMANS!
