Nearly a decade and half has passed since the National Policy for Empowerment of Women, 2001 was formulated. Since then significant strides in global technology and information systems have placed the Indian economy on a trajectory of higher growth impacting the general populace and women, in particular in unique and different ways. The discourse on women’s empowerment has been gradually evolving over the last few decades, wherein paradigm shifts have occurred –from seeing women as mere recipients of welfare benefits to mainstreaming gender concerns and engaging them in the development process of the country. These changes have brought forth fresh opportunities and possibilities for women’s empowerment while at the same time presenting new and emerging challenges which along with persisting socio-economic problems continue to hinder gender equality and holistic empowerment of women.

The policy envisions a society in which, women attain their full potential and are able to participate as equal partners in all spheres of life. It also emphasises the role of an effective framework to enable the process of developing policies, programmes and practices which will ensure equal rights and opportunities for women.

The broad objective of the policy is to create a conducive socio-cultural, economic and political environment to enable women enjoy de jure and de facto fundamental rights and realize their full potential.

Priority Areas

1. Health including food security and nutrition
2. Education
3. Economy
4. Governance and Decision Making

There is already much in the laps of women to harass men.. please do not bring more of such nuisance. India is called Bharat mata but it never meant that only women will live in it. Don't harass men to the extent where they have to create a Bharat Pita for them.

For the develolment of India it is very importnat that men and women should work as two wheels working together and for this they should be treated equally. But this policy aims to put men in bad light and try to supress them which will harm thr society and our family systems. Most important thing binding India is its family system which will be greatly hatmed by this new policy. Please donot harm Indian family system by bringing such a biased polcy.

This is Anti Society policy.it is the worst thought while drafting such policies.already, because of biased law families are getting destroyed with the speed as nothing else and again such one sided policies are getting draft.Every policy should be gender neutral .it should be for the development of all.. I do not condone the policy. If given a vote I chose to vote against it.This should be immediately revoked as It will make our society helpless and insane.. #Disgusting

This policy is going to break thr family sturcture in India as this is more of anti men. The policy has been built in such a way that it goes against men as human beings. Insteaf of helping to build an equal society the policy has been worded vaguely and put in such a way to opress men. Please build a neautral policy which helps in uplifment of society as a whole and help to strengthen our family system with both men and women treated as equal. Plea dont break and harm our society.

WE women already have enough laws and most of them are used to harass men only, as everyday there are reports of misuse of laws and how women are manipulating these laws.Unless these loop holes fixed in all of the laws which are ment for Women, this national policy will be useless. because for everything is limit, if these laws keep on harassing men and misused then sooner than later there will uprising against Women and men will take law into their hands and law makers also revert all laws.

We demand inclusion of suo moto punishment clauses for false accusers in current sexual assault laws of India. That is flawed and highly biased against men. Even if there are provisions in the IPCs to tackle law misuse, we demand suo moto punishment clauses to effectively deter false cases. There are many incidents of the misuse of the POSH Law in the corporates by female staff. it has been seen in several cases where female staff has ruined the life of male staff with the false allegation.
