In December 2014 the United Nations declared 21st June as ‘International Day of Yoga’ after 177 nations across all continents of the world co-sponsored a resolution seeking the same.

When the resolution was adopted, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed immense joy on this and said that Yoga has the power to bring the entire humankind together. It may be recalled that the Prime Minister had mooted such an idea during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly in September 2014.

You are requested to provide inputs on the following aspects relating to the marking of the first ever ‘International Day of Yoga’.

(1) How can the ‘International Day of Yoga’ be celebrated at the UN forum?

(2) Suggest creative ways in which the ‘International Day of Yoga’ can be celebrated at the world stage.

(3) What are ways in which we can mark the ‘International Day of Yoga’ across the length and breadth of India?

Best inputs and suggestions would be sent to the Prime Minister himself and would also be utilized.

A lot of people esp the youth think that Yoga is boring.. not cool.. too difficult and don't look at it as an option to stay healthy. They choose other modern methods like going to the gym etc. I have made a video showing that a yoga class can also be fun and am hoping that more and more youngster esp in our country turn to it to stay fit both mind and body. https://goo.gl/KJnUxD DO have look and leave your comments.

For those who really think that 'yoga SE hoga'.But just think about half of population of India who are either hungry ,thirsty, unemployed,Just living anyhow etc.Take youth as example,do they have time for yoga other than trying for jobs all the time they get.Yoga is for those billionaires who want to live for hundred years enjoying their billions. But people like farmers, laboures, rickshaw pullers, engineers don't want to live for hundred years just suffering all the time.'KHALI PET YOGA NHI HOTA

India & Indians i guess would want to be creative & progressive. I personally strongly feel that yoga is great but needs a cteative upgrade to be readily accepted by all major religeous factions... by including a bit from d Muslim namaz, a bit from the Sikh ardas and a bit from the Christian prayer to make yoga all encompassing and acceptable to all & sundry. Yoga will retain 90% of its original content and form and to become part of school curriculam all over India would be a great initiative.

Why government is not taking any action towards those who mix detergents / chemicals in milk which we and our kids consume daily , Why no action against those who inject harmful colours and chemicals in fruits and vegetable we consume on daily basis , Why government is not serious on improving qualty of air which we will inhale while doing yoga ? Government has to come up with strict controls and punishments to those who do or allow such things to happen

The Grand record breaking celebration of Yoga day has certainly drawn attention of world toward India and charisma of Yoga.It was very well initiated by our Prime minister on UN platform and insight on Yoga in his speech won it support from almost all participant. Ultimately efforts of our PM paid off and 21st June was marked as 'YOGA DAY'.But for me its just a good start, follow up session and propagation of Yoga benefits in some organised way is needed to mark complete success.
