First of all pollution control boards of states should be given more power so that they can take strict action against the industries, municipal corporations or even gram panchayats who are violating rules. STPs should be made compulsory for towns and cities of population of more than 50 thousand. And why only Ganga? All the river, lakes should be cleaned. Because apart from religious and tourism angle better health of people can be achieved through this program.

A comprehensive project for Clean Ganga will take years in planning & execution. As an immediate measure a step should be taken to make parallel covered canals on both banks of the river in cities area to receive sewerage discharged from the city so as to keep the polluted water away from main stream of river. Treat the polluted water & then merge in main stream or utilize for other purpose.

Put very high taxes on high polluters like tanneries, manufaturing units. Govt should constructing new dams as well that kills water flow b increases pollution density in rivers.

NAMAMI GANGE – Outline of purification scheme Total river length should be divided into stretches of 100 km each. Pollution level should be measured at the upstream end of every stretch. The difference between this readings at the upstream and downstream ends of a stretch gives the amount of pollution for which the stretch in question is responsible. Cess can be levied pro-rata.

We have developed unique bio-remediation process to clean the organic silt and water contamination. treatment depends on contamination. if used from starting point of sewage, entire stretch gets cleaned by the time it reaches the river. cost dirt cheap. should be made user pay ie., those who create the dirt and sewage should pay for its cleaning too. contact soildetox@gmail.com or mahesh +91 9731428236. within 7 days the foul smell will go and within a month, the river is crystal clean.
