The India Newborn Action Plan (INAP) was launched by Hon’ble Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Harsh Vardhan on 18th September, 2014 in New Delhi. It outlines a targeted strategy for accelerating the reduction of preventable newborn deaths and stillbirths in the country. INAP defines the latest evidence on effective interventions which will not only help in reducing the burden of stillbirths and neonatal mortality, but also maternal deaths. With clearly marked timelines for implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and scaling-up of proposed interventions, it is expected that all stakeholders working towards improving newborn health in India will stridently work towards attainment of the goals of “Single Digit NMR by 2030” and “Single Digit SBR by 2030.”The INAP will be implemented within the existing RMNCH+A framework, and guided by the principles of Integration, Equity, Gender, Quality of Care, Convergence, Accountability, and Partnerships. Its strength is built on its six pillars of intervention packages, impacting stillbirths and newborn health. For effective implementation, a systematic plan for monitoring and evaluation has been developed with a list of dashboard indicators.

Priye Modi ji, Deployment of proper rain water harvesting techniques and proper channelization of rain water through the drains, I live in Gurgoan and NH8 has drains both sides of the road for water channelization, but unfortunately those drains are filled with dirt, and never cleaned, if kept properly cleaned will ensure that there is not a single drop of water on the road after the rain is over. It is just about a proper cleaning mechanism and check on periodic basis.

Dear Modi Ji, I want to bring to your notice the ways we can reduce the consumption of Tobacco in our country. There is a very informative article: http://www.thehindu.com/sci-tech/health/will-tax-hike-reduce-tobacco-consumption-in-india/article6082526.ece from the Hindu paper where Dr. Harshvardhan has also provided his inputs. I want to recommend a uniform tax structure for Tobacco products. Nothing can improve awareness in people other than increasing the prices of these products uniformly.

Winter is knocking on our doors & while this is a pleasant time for many, it can also be incredibly cruel for the poor & homeless. It proves fatal to hundreds every year. Each year, we are left with old woollens & blankets. Please create a center in each city & town where people can donate their old winter accessories & from where these will be redistributed to the poor. This,I believe, will be a small but sure step towards a developed india

In modern life many of us has forgotten-Early to bed and early to rise.Among many reasons one very important is TV shows. In urban as well as rural areas a big percentage of people enjoy TV shows up to midnight or even later, which was not a scenario 20-25 years back. The whole nation will suffer the consequences in due time.Life style change is already reflecting in health of youth mainly. Stop all entertainment channels after 11PM.Only News channels and occasional global competitive sports.

Continuing my suggestion of encouraging start ups on low cost INCUBATORS,supplies during power failures to the PHSc/Subcenters can come through the generators maintained in those areas by Microwave towers by cell phone companies. This could be a condition while issuing licence to them or allowed as CSR expenditure.
