In the recently concluded Rio Olympics 2016, India sent its largest ever Olympic contingent comprising of 118 athletes. Despite the large number of athletes, the Indian contingent managed to bag only 2 medals in the Games viz., one Silver medal in Badminton and one Bronze medal in Wrestling. Considering the size of our country it can be said that the present performance was not up to the country’s potential. Views/suggestions are invited on what specific steps need to be taken to realise full sporting potential of India in forthcoming Olympics in 2020, 2024 and 2028.

As for the SAARC nations a games are organised i.e., South Asian Games in every 2 year, in that same way if for the BRICS nations, a games are organised, which will help the Indian athletes in the future as the China was 3rd in the Olympic medal tally and Russia was 4th and Brazil n South Africa were also above India. It will help Indian athletes to learn so much and it will increase the friendship between the countries.

1) Govt should help in getting sporting equipment to all needy at very reasonable/ subsidize rates in eCommerce site 2) High value reward (atleast 1cr & above) to all medal winners in Olympics & atleast 50 lakhs in other events / cups for medal winners. 3) Medal winners should be awarded and rewarded publicly by PM or atleast CM. 4) All medal winners should have option to open their academy if they want and that should be tax free. 5) Coaches of medal winners also should be rewarded.

Govt should start a campaign in which they have to find the athletes from the village level as there are so many athletes in the villages and small cities who can win the medals but due to no encouragement they are lost in the dark. The govt should find them and give the proper training

For the medals in the event like Olympic, the govt. should not give the amount to the athletes after winning the medals, they should give that amount to the federations for the preparation and should look after them that they are not misusing it and should expense only on sports. All the athletes should have given the world class facilitates, modern equipments, regular competitions with the Olympic medalist, foreign training programs and most important corruption free sports.

Indian schools never pay respect to PT and sport from school level. Neither school provide indoor and outdoor furnished environment. Never trains the students with experts. Things happened from the bud. An infected bud never become fruits. Fixing the goal, then provide benchmark and record beat training from the bottom up. If never bends at 5 never bends at 50 either. Any achievements need grace, and with all resistance power. If Para can then why not youngster can't. This is tutor's hand.

In particularly Andhra Pradesh educational institutions like sri chaitanya and narayana are killing the dreams of sports persons. Parents also want only marks and classes but not encouraging the children's interests. Should encourage children from school life itself by implementing sports as one of the subject. Parents mind set should be changed as per children's interests.exams on the physical fitness and sports should be kept from school level itself up to degree level. Trainers to be provided
