Overview:-

The Internet of Things (IoT) can transform the agriculture industry and enable farmers to contend with the enormous challenges they face. The industry must overcome increasing water shortages, limited availability of lands, fertility of lands difficult to manage cost, while meeting the increasing consumption needs of a global population that is expected to grow by 70% by 2050.

Objective:-

New innovative IoT applications will address these issues and help in increasing the quality, quantity, sustainability and cost effectiveness of agricultural production. For example, leverage IoT can be leveraged to allow the farmers to evaluate the soil conditions, moisture level, livestock feed levels density and level of pest control. say if the level of pest control exceeds prescribed range, through sensors alarm and alerts can be generated to warn the farmers to take actions.

The purpose of “Smart Farming” is to increase the quality and quantity of agricultural production by using sensing technology to make farmers more intelligent and more connected.

With the help of this discussion platform we request you to share your valuable inputs on:

• How an individual or an organization may contribute to Smart Farming.
• Experiences and challenges in using technology as a tool in farming.
• Practical/workable solutions for complete imposition of the future of farming- “Smart Farming” using IoT

Smart Farming I feel this is all about optimum resource management for soil preparation, crop planning, seed selection, watering, composting and post harvest management. A lot of technological transformations are required which can be only done by state and central governments only as farmers are largely unorganised and even after running half hearted promotional activities by some organisations and Now they are reluctant to adopt new ideas, process or technologies.

Farmers are the most suffered community from nature, environment, the oppression from correction documentation as it was changed from the hand written to the computerized state, the farmers have to face distress and run from office to office to get the records rectified and correction needed to even claim their title.

Irrigation is the prominent problem. See Latur. must have permanent solution Govt cant depend upon monsoon. Desalination of sea water in large scale is only the answer. See what Israel is doing. we too can do it

Farmers are back bone of any country .That too for a country with large population.Mechanized farming, scientific approach and proper planning of commodities to be grown for decent price realization is a must.Agricultural societies should decide a potential areas where good yields are possible depending on the climate, water, fertility of the soil. The idea is to have proper infrastructure like approach roads to farms irrespective who's land it's for movement of heavy earth movers for good economics

Sir, fertiliser & pesticide use continue to be a conundrum. How much is enough? The disbursal of both should be tagged to Aadhar to monitor consumption pattern through #IoT. Farmers should be encouraged to organic farming, cross cultivation with nitrogen producing plants, newer hybrid resistant varieties & neem coated urea. Bio-pesticides should also be researched on & advanced for use. Not only will soil health be preserved, long term yield will improve, better quality of produce- #SmartFarming

Farmers focus should be on food processing . They can create small scale industries this way and serve and fullfill their jobs for many.-jain pradeep

Before adapting smart farming we need to work on grass root level and organized and eductae the farmer on collective farming.I our country some areas are drought affected and somewhere no water. In that case i think about our former pm atal jee`s linking river plan which can distribute water we all need to focus on water harvesting and implement it.

jaruri bat app sabko ye bataye ki bure vakt par ham sab milke ek dusre ki madat kare. Or kisika toh yeh sapna bhi raha tha ki  sab nadi yane ki bhart bhar me jitni bhi nadiya behati he un sabko jab 1 se jod de to pani ki samsya kam ho sakti he To isse pani samundar me jake vo useless na ho jidar dam pure 100% nahi hote he vo ho sakte he.
