Overview:-

The Internet of Things (IoT) can transform the agriculture industry and enable farmers to contend with the enormous challenges they face. The industry must overcome increasing water shortages, limited availability of lands, fertility of lands difficult to manage cost, while meeting the increasing consumption needs of a global population that is expected to grow by 70% by 2050.

Objective:-

New innovative IoT applications will address these issues and help in increasing the quality, quantity, sustainability and cost effectiveness of agricultural production. For example, leverage IoT can be leveraged to allow the farmers to evaluate the soil conditions, moisture level, livestock feed levels density and level of pest control. say if the level of pest control exceeds prescribed range, through sensors alarm and alerts can be generated to warn the farmers to take actions.

The purpose of “Smart Farming” is to increase the quality and quantity of agricultural production by using sensing technology to make farmers more intelligent and more connected.

With the help of this discussion platform we request you to share your valuable inputs on:

• How an individual or an organization may contribute to Smart Farming.
• Experiences and challenges in using technology as a tool in farming.
• Practical/workable solutions for complete imposition of the future of farming- “Smart Farming” using IoT

cont.. so after few years due to design fault and poor quality material dams bust and create not just disaster but correct terms should be "mass genocide". Apart in order for manipulated design to pass government is bribed at each level of cross checking so entire system is involved so catching individual suspects is meaningless.

cont...There is also ticking disaster in dams in India. Majority of large and medium dams created after Independence by private sector contractors are suspect. As problem lies in root of tendering process. Government tenders are lucrative but they dont give market rate of profit margin after cost of construction almost all are cost to cost made so contractor changes design in connivance with beaurocrates and uses poor quality stuff and manipulates by cost overruns. No one did infra audit.

cont..link adhaar card to soil health card then attach it to fertilizer subsidy to crop insurance to other incentives so if a farmer has soil health card only then he will het subsidised fertilizer and crop insurance and crop loan. So if he does not buy any single item he is exempted from all. Use carrot and stick method. As some farmers misue bank credit and other credit so linking insurance will reduce credit default. So it will stop misuse of subsidy.

Sir, current drought and famine are no surprise and I am not being insensitive to those who are suffering. There is massive misuse of each and every thing from over fertilizer use in punjab leading to saliniztion of soil to sugarcane crops in dry areas. Mismanagement is across India. Problem lies at very core of it. Your soil health card is good initiative but that is not enough. You need Jan Dhan like interlinked system.

Real time area of sowing of each crop shall be monitored and farmers shall be informed. 2. Oversowing of particular crop results in low price at harvesting 3. Undersowing leads to less crop...higher price for consumer. 4. So government shall monitor right acrage is sowed for each commodity crop. Satellite and digital system shall be used.

1. Soil testing integrated with crop...from sowing to harvesting consultancy 2. Farmers should know mandis as well as retail customer buying rates. So that they can deal better with wholesaler.

(e) Cold storage made up of solar system may be developed inside a village for which small farmers will not expend for their transportation. (f) Micro tractor or small transport may be introduced for which the small/middle class farmers can easily be affordable. This will bring a big revolution to the field of agriculture. (g) Inherent or Diversive agriculture may be developed for the improvement of these farmers or else those farmers will join other professions.
