A huge amount of Govt. money is spent on subsidy of petroleum products. The Govt. had to spend Rs. 1,39,869 crore on account of subsidy on petroleum products in the year 2013-14. As, the indigenous availability of crude Oil and LPG is limited, these are imported in huge quantities to fulfill the demand of the country.  As Govt. provides domestic LPG and PDS Kerosene on subsidised price, this results in huge subsidy burden on Govt. Due to presence of dual pricing(subsidized and non-subsidized) in LPG and SKO, there is a diversion of subsidized LPG and Kerosene into commercial usage. Although Govt. has taken several initiatives to reduce this diversion of subsidized LPG and PDS Kerosene, public participation is solicited to suggest ways for reducing diversion in LPG and PDS Kerosene.

You are invited to suggest ideas to reduce diversion and the subsidy burden on account of LPG and Kerosene.

Government has to give subsidy only to the poor people by reducing subsidy from 12 to 6 to rich people. Therefore it can be benefited.Government is giving kerosene subsidy to poor people. But rich people are also using this kerosene at subsidized rates.

as country's Fiscal deficit is a serious challenge to the Finance Minister of India and as Subsidy burden on LPG Cylinder and Kerosene oil is the major contributor into this deficit it is always a great concern for the government to stop diversion of these subsidised products for commercial purposes. The Ministry should start incentivising the BUSINESS ENTITY using more then 10-cylinders with 100 points and as and when the business earns 1000 points the business will get one free cylinder

Many people including my self are ready to give up thier subsidy but the issue isMonopoly of the LPG distributor for a particular geographic area is resulting in black marketing of LPG cylinders and corruption by overcharging amount for releasing new connection or even for issuing double cylinder.Govt may think of removing restriction on geographic area for a particular distributor. If services of a distributor at 6 kms from my house is better than a distributor at 2 kms.

so many people of middle class and below middle class people are selling their second cylinder to hotels .i have an idea to abolish this and save money to government .give 14.2kg cylinder and 5kg cylinder per connection.if suddenly gas over they book gas and use 5kg for 2days.with in 2 days 14.2kg gas will arrive to customer.due to this people can't sell their gas .

I hv heard frm lot of people tht they are ready to give up their subsidy but wht is the guarantee that the amt. would be utilised to lit someone needy's kitchen n relieve her frm her painful life. I m nt able to answer their question? Govt should make some transparent database which could be viewed online by anyone. It would show subsidy give up detail linking it to the detail to whom that amt was transferred. It would motivate people a lot n i think many many more capable will give up subsidy.
