silk is very costly and very much liked abroad. If one makes sure the silk cloth does not shed and transfer color to other clothes, it has great potential in countries like USA, Europe. Most of the handloom silk focus is on sarees, Shift that focus to make western clothes. If we want to promote indian handloom as brand, sell it abroad.

1.There should be a specialized governing agency for every different type of handloom variety.2.This agency should provide proper training to these weavers of their concerned area of expertise.3.These agencies should be responsible for the quality of product.4.The pricing should be done properly and first the products should be made available for India only.5.After gaining a good share in Indian market it should be made available for exports at a higher rate.6.Weavers's livelihood first.

All Indian handloom producers should be tied to a Marketing and logistic agency managed by private firm but governed by Government to see how much money reaches actual producer. All handloom producers need to be promoted on digital platform under one umbrella like e-commerce companies. Handloom produced in Assam can be bought in Kerela using the e-commerce platform and vice versa. Producer can share picture and price of the item using mobile app as soon as item is available.

There should be training institutes for the Handloom artisans to train them with national and international standard design, tailoring, weaving, marketing and packing. Preferably located at the point of their group and work. It should be free and monitored by responsible people, with remuneration linked with their performance. Funds and Credit support should be given to them to fulfill their manufacturing and marketing obligations. Jai Hind. Bharat Mata Ki Jai.

We must create a Brand for Indian Hand-looms & add regional identity or geographical location as a specialty under one Umbrella. e.g. Paithani from Maharashtra gets branded as INDIA_PAITHANI Also free weavers from Middle-men so that they get right price for their product & improve on quality. Also quality norms for hand-looms should be re-defined as sometimes handwoven cloth will not be perfect but it will definitely be unique.make Indian Handloom a brand for Youth, that will make it Prosper!!

As a student of textile design and now working with handloom weavers closely, it is an observation that the main issue is at the grass root level. It is important to organise the system better with more transparency of the entire chain. I deal with handloom products and really struggle with basic needs of today like that of time constraints, quality control, basic hygiene, employment which is consistent. Primary and basic education is so substandard and basic ethics have suffered over time.

Best you to promote any product is to create a brand. No matter the quality of a product it is the marketing and promotion of the product which makes it famous.
For example products from patanjali, baba ramdev is using marketing strategy to reach every household instead of depending on his followers. Now almost everyone knows and are using the products from patanjali not because of baba ramdev but coz of marketing.

Movement of goods across states within India should be hassle free and handlooms and other such items should be sold online and fast delivery through reliable courier.
