Also the city is located on the foothills of the himalyas.
So create a solution in which we can use the natural gravity created by the slope and use that water that flows down the slope

Chandigarh is one of the unique cities with a lot of green cover. So i believe the solution should be driven from this context.Bioswales are networks dat carry water under these existing green belts. They harvest as well as purify the water naturally because of the layers of soil.Maybe we can scale up this idea for the entire city

Encourage residents to go for rain water harvesting. It should be made compulsory in all govt buildings, colleges, big schools, industrial houses, hospitals, clinics, kanal houses etc. UT may to engage right consultancy company and very good academic institution to develop & provide complete know how free of cost to any resident.

instead of connecting rivers together we can connect the lakes in the local areas for ex : In my native place there is a lake which is filled but there is also a lake near my farm were it is totally dry were the farmers are suffering without water

every day in our daily life we waste a lot of water through sewage and we also pollute the water resources .so we must set up a sewage plant in the outskirts were it helps in irrigating the lands were the primary income sector will develop
