The mandate of the Ministry of Culture is to preserve, promote, explore and share India’s culture and heritage along with ethos and values for the benefit of mankind. For achieving this Mission, the Ministry undertakes the following activities:

• Maintenance and conservation of heritage, historic sites and ancient monuments
• Administration of libraries
• Promotion of literary, visual and performing arts
• Observation of centenaries and anniversaries of important national personalities and events
• Promotion of institutions and organizations of Buddhist and Tibetan studies
• Promotion of institutional and individual non-official initiatives in the fields of art and culture
• Entering into cultural agreements with foreign countries

The functional spectrum of the Ministry ranges from creating cultural awareness from the grass root level to the international cultural exchange level. Details about several Schemes which are administered by Ministry of Culture for providing financial assistance for promoting cultural activities are available on the Ministry’s website (http://indiaculture.nic.in/).

Also, various organizations under the Ministry of Culture organize cultural programs and events from time to time.

The Ministry has decided to invite suggestions from the public regarding innovative ideas for effective use of Media in promoting Indian Culture and Heritage.

It is requested that the individual suggestions may be limited to about 200 words.

Please conduct speeches about Indian culture and importance of Yoga, meditation, Bhagavadgeetha, spiritual preaching, proper way of leading life etc in schools and colleges. This will help the kids to be confident about their life, education, personal life, career and lead them in a good path.

There are various supestitions in the country , they are religious, cultural etc, which are not based on logical ground, We should educate the people that these are the hurdles for achieving many good things in life, like cleanliness, removing pollution in the rivers etc.

I recently travelled to Bangalore by an Air India flight. The Captain was very polite and crisp in his communication, absolutely impressed. However, the best part was that, he ended his announcements with 'Jai Hind'. I really felt quiet proud when I heard him say Jai Hind. Hence, I thought I should write and suggest you to see the possibility of making this a part of all Govt communications i.e. Airline annoucements, railway announcements etc. this would instill a feeling of pride in all.

Hello culture ministry..I had earlier also given a suggestion to celebrate Indian New year as per indian panchang that is around now on 8th April..with full fervor..the way whole world celebrates 31st Dec...

Please promote Indian Culture & heritage at every Entry and Exit points of India so that when someone enter form outside into India he/she learn about our Culture and heritage and he/she will become a brand ambassador of our Great Country India.

Short films (45 - 60 min) on unique cultural aspect for each state should be developed by respective state. The film should be broadcasted to all states.The film should typically contain all the things that a state wants to present to other states in terms of uniqueness, food, culture etc. Tourism between states may also increase due to this exercise. People from each state should feel confident about their unique identity and yet be able to bond firmly with fellow Indians from other states.

To integrate the masses of our country by understanding the diversity of our great nation and its heritage,culture,lifestyle etc all state capitals must have a Bharat Haat similar to Dilli Haat in Delhi. This will facilitate all our states to understand each other. In addition as recently initiated by HRD ministry to fly National flag in all universities, why we must restrict same to university every village must have a hub where National Flag is hoisted and must be a source of national pride

Mr. Prime Minister, Please invite 100 tax payers to republic day function, independence function and beating retreat function. Select these 100 tax payers randomly from IT department's database and let them sit near to you. This will encourage people to pay taxes. Thanks, Dheeraj Anand
