Under UJALA scheme, the main objective is to promote efficient lighting, enhance awareness on using efficient equipment which reduces electricity bills and helps preserve the environment. Efficient light bulbs, like LEDs, consume only one-tenth of the energy used by ordinary bulbs to provide the same or better light output. So, we ask you to suggest ways for promoting the use of LEDs on this open discussion forum.

No plan can be successful without involvement of common people. So we can do this in some of the ways as follows:- 1.Awaring youth at school and college level ,benefit of LED because they are the game changer. 2.Encouraging Research n development for LEDs. So that price can be reduced. 3.Allow new entrepreneurs n healthy competition between companies so that they can provide better quality in minimum expense. 4.awarding village panchayats n local bodies for ensuring the use of LED int

I would like to open my views for a very eco-friendly cause.I think that befoe providing L.E.D.'s to public government should make it compulsory to use L.E.D.bulbs in all its officies, hospitals etc. with posters in walls giving people details about the benefits of L.E.D.'s. There should be government stores selling L.E.D.'s at a cheaper price so that a financially weak family could also aford it .

I recommend to publicise a scheme whereby public buying LED lights from authorised outlets will be given subsidies similar to Gas subsidy where subsidy amount will be directly credited to bank accounts. However this is subject to buying more than minimum number of LED products.

A govt. sponsored scheme should be prepared to replace existing household CFLs with Ujala LEDs. People will not mind replacing their old CFLs (being used at home) with new LED bulbs at marginally low exchange amount.
