Under UJALA scheme, the main objective is to promote efficient lighting, enhance awareness on using efficient equipment which reduces electricity bills and helps preserve the environment. Efficient light bulbs, like LEDs, consume only one-tenth of the energy used by ordinary bulbs to provide the same or better light output. So, we ask you to suggest ways for promoting the use of LEDs on this open discussion forum.

Since non LED usage is a national wastage of precious energy, Government must launch an aggressive campaign to replace convent bulbs and tubes with LED devices only.

The electricity bill should show two bills, one which is to be paid and the other one showing the amount which would be the bill if LED bulbs are used, asking the consumer to calculate money savings in 1 year and 5 years. This calculation will show a remarkable difference between the actual and LED bill(if used) amount. This might force them to think over the using LED.

all are discussing about conservation of energy and production of renewable energy to save the country from power crisis ,but in kerala we have steel producing factories which are melting steel with direct use of electricity, central govt should ban the use of electricity for melting scrap steel,so that the country can save electricity.
