Under UJALA scheme, the main objective is to promote efficient lighting, enhance awareness on using efficient equipment which reduces electricity bills and helps preserve the environment. Efficient light bulbs, like LEDs, consume only one-tenth of the energy used by ordinary bulbs to provide the same or better light output. So, we ask you to suggest ways for promoting the use of LEDs on this open discussion forum.

Hello Sir, * First of all we need make sure the use of LED Bulbs only in every Govt Project Like Street lights, Govt Offices etc. * Second All the private limited offices, malls, hotels etc should be instructed to use only LED Bulbs. * To distribute the LED Bulbs to common people, On every gas connection 2-3 LEd Bulbs should be given @Low very low rate, so everyone can buy and govt can keep track to avoid misuse of subsidies. * Manufacturing of "Traditional bulbs" should banned. Thanks

An energy audit of all offices under central Govt be done, to ascertain the wattage & luminescence required in each office, other utilities, thereby calculating the wattage and number of LED bulbs/Tube lights required to replace existing incandescent lamps, tube lights and CFLs. All public places including street lights be replaced with LED bulbs/Tubes. Each household be given quantity six LED bulbs of different wattage on subsidized rates

Traditional bulbs must be replaced by LED bulbs in all state & central government offices before 26 jan 2017. Prepare LED bulbs selling website. Govt.should tie up with post dept.for fast delievery of ordered LED bulbs. For small villages and towns LED bulbs must be available in govt authorised "RATION SHOP". Make rules of use of LED bulbs in all BILLBOARDS must. Ask schools and colleges to teach advantages of LED bulbs to students. Railway coaches must be light with LED bulbs.

The scheme is good to preserve our envoirnment. The only thing is that 90% people canot afford to purchase the LED lamps as 5W lamp costs not less than Rs300 in the local market. So to promote the use of such lights either Govt sells the same on subsidized rates ie less than Rs60 or open up atleast one unit in every city so that locals can purchase there at Govt rates. This should be given wide publicity like posters in the city otherwise the rich will have access, will purchase & poor will not
