The digital world has become an essential part of our daily lives—whether it’s social media, online shopping, digital banking, or gaming. Along with these opportunities come new risks such as Investment Scam, Instant Loan, Part time job, Trading, Sextortion, Courier Fraud, Digital Arrest, Aadhaar Enabled Payment System (AEPS).

To build a safer online community, Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) under Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) in collaboration with MyGov invites citizens to join the Digital Safety Dialogue. This open discussion is a space for sharing personal experiences, safety tips, and community practices that help protect against cyber threats. By learning from each other, we can strengthen digital safety awareness and promote secure online behavior for all.

Your inputs will help create a collective pool of ideas and practices that can be used to spread awareness and guide citizens towards building a Cybercrime-free Digital Bharat.

here are some points to spread awareness:

Cinema PSAs: Mandatory pre-movie shorts on cyber threats, with QR codes to bank-backed safety tips shared on social media.

Social Media Challenges: Platforms run viral "Spot the Scam" campaigns with cinematic themes, tied to bank rewards.

Bank App Clips: Compulsory in-app alerts with mini-movie clips on fraud, shareable to social media.

Joint Webinars: Banks, cinemas, and platforms host mandatory role-play webinars streamed on social media.

Loyalty Badges: Banks require digital safety badges earned via cinema tickets for themed films promoted online.

"To effectively curb cybercrime, it is necessary to create strong cyber laws and enforce them strictly so that offenders are immediately punished. Clear and speedy procedures must be established for cases of online fraud, hacking, and data theft. Comprehensive cyber security education and training programs should be conducted for the general public. Regular cyber security tips, alerts, and guidelines should be provided on digital platforms. Collaboration with telecom companies, banking institutions, and tech firms is essential for fraud prevention. Prompt action must be ensured for blocking fake numbers, links, and accounts. The special cyber helpline number 1930 should be widely publicized. A dedicated cyber crime cell should be established to ensure speedy and effective resolution of complaints. Periodic awareness campaigns should be organized in colleges and schools, urging students to also educate people living around them about cybercrime.

We are moving towards digital revolution mass storage devices and 6 g. 1)Information of any person should be available centrally to govt, Aadhar, PAN, airports, jobs, licenses or so, across India. With finger prints, With due security. 2) Bio check and locks should be implemented on priority. 3)Personnel messages, data, communication should be encrypted completely, unless it’s national threat. 4)Many video, messages, insta or Fb posts are fake or scary or anti National or provocative. They may be hinting future tragedies. There should be AI based checks under legal framework across. 5)Needs secured govt portal, if a common man wants to report a suspicious situation. 6)Integration of all agencies systems and data centrally, will lower cross functional atrocities. 7) Aadhar data can establish successor easily, killing half of family court cases and crime. 8)Systems Engineering will help logistics and will accelerate work flow. 9)academic syllabus needs revolution to cater future.

Let me post issues in digital safety, I came across, respective authorities may decide action. 1) Aadhar Card .. no one accepts masked card and details along with PAN Card are floating around. Any agency can fetch all investments of any body easily. 2) If we make card payments for some subscriptions, without asking continuation next year, still we receive some message, saying unless you hold, payment will assume acceptance and continue. Neither banks or even respected agencies don’t support positivity. 3) It appears that fraudulent agencies can avail “untraceable” SIM card easily. 4) I heard about fake Aadhar card and fake deals under one’s name, that means it’s easy process, without counter checks of eye scan or fingerprint. 5) It’s most easy to deal with different agencies when deal is in their favour, but most difficult to find grievance contacts, register complaint or expect fair resolution. It’s common with bigger banks or government departments, too. Even numbers don’t work.
