India is among 51 countries to sign the “Rome Declaration” on “Achieving Self-sufficiency in Safe Blood and blood products based voluntary non-remunerated donation”. Blood is an intrinsic requirement for health care and proper functioning of the health system. National AIDS Control Organization under Department of Health and Family Welfare has been primarily responsible for ensuring provision of safe blood for the country since 1992. National Blood Policy 2003 reiterates firmly the government’s commitment to provide safe and adequate quantity of blood, blood components and blood products.

However, in India, a needy patient or his relatives have to run from pillar to post in search of blood and the onus of procurement of blood still lies with the patient and not with the service provider.

Suggestions are invited on how to develop a nationally coordinated and well networked blood transfusion service in the country and reach 100% voluntary blood donation to enable us to meet the global goal of self sufficiency in blood and blood products.

Greetings Sir. I Kandasamy residing in Tamilnadu, Chennai in Redhills. I am staying in Rental House. But I interested in your great idea of Healthy India. My view is as I don’t have a house to live, then how I go for the Cleanliness of India. In my village there is no sanitation facilities. So public has to use common toilet or use the vacant land only. The cleanliness should start from home. If there is no home how we people get in to clean the area.

Generally Governments do not alert the citizens of tax dues. Sending SMS on tax dues to individual tax payer wold speed up tax payments. A suitable mechanism for this has to be instituted in Governments. Payment of Panchayath tax, Property tax, Building tax, Professional tax, Income tax, etc can be facilitated up in this way. Being an ayurvedic graduate i will definately urge people to adopt a healthy lifestyle. Ayurveda is a lifestyle so kindly adopt its principles of healthy living..... Dincharya , ritucharya rather than self medicating with home remedies. Because the main motive of our own science is preventing the disease !! Try keeping our younger generations away from junk foods n say yess to yog.

I think it is better that application of reservation would be restricted to the persons who got govt jobs using reservation facility and their family also because he/she is in a position of having govt job..

Shall create awareness among students and youth to encourage them for voluntary blood donation where the NGOs shall play a vital role with commitment in ground reality and shall be monitored by the DAO, SBTC and NACO with sufficient staff and technical mechanism to find out the violation and to streamline the blood banks activities.
