India is among 51 countries to sign the “Rome Declaration” on “Achieving Self-sufficiency in Safe Blood and blood products based voluntary non-remunerated donation”. Blood is an intrinsic requirement for health care and proper functioning of the health system. National AIDS Control Organization under Department of Health and Family Welfare has been primarily responsible for ensuring provision of safe blood for the country since 1992. National Blood Policy 2003 reiterates firmly the government’s commitment to provide safe and adequate quantity of blood, blood components and blood products.

However, in India, a needy patient or his relatives have to run from pillar to post in search of blood and the onus of procurement of blood still lies with the patient and not with the service provider.

Suggestions are invited on how to develop a nationally coordinated and well networked blood transfusion service in the country and reach 100% voluntary blood donation to enable us to meet the global goal of self sufficiency in blood and blood products.

Private hospitals should be brought under companies act. As 2% Corporate Social Responsibility is mandatory for a company under companies act, they can contribute in a comprehensive way in health care.

Clean India: Social contribution activities. Suggestion to allocate morning 10-15 min to clean surrounding area of office / work place by employees. In Japan i see this social contribution activity is performed by Japanese company staff. Building cleaning staff cleans building area plus area near to beside building. Same things is done by individula building owner.

Make In India: In Japan every week TV program "The Making" come. This program is good for kids to watch. This gives idea of how things are made. My suggestion is to show this type of program on National TV so that every corner of Indian can see it. Small scale industries can contribute to show how things are made.

The home department(s) and the judiciaries which are responsible for the law and order system of the society has become much inefficient. In addition to its mal-functioning, it should also be reckoned that the institution has not grown in proportion to the size of the population. Its strength can be improved by implementing societal participation in the process. Civilians can be empowered for short periods (in turn) to examine public facts and irregularities and decisions demanded. Swarup

we are not focussing on family planning. i think now first and foremost goal of governemnt and ours should be to control population. if it is not done whatever development may be achieved by out prime minister it will never be upto the mark. so let us start educating people about advantages of small family and provide all family planning procedures at their door step. i want to start such activities but no guidance or head under which i can work.
